Performance Chip??

my friend told me something about an "PERFORMANCE CHIP" adding about 20HP and about 20 TORQUE and plus 5-7 more mpg and i was woundering is that true? and its only less then $50 to buy.. if anyone own 1 or knows about it plz ho0k me up wif some info..

False Claims. It is a resistor to alter the IAT signal to the ECM. The Scion ECM is encrpyted and there are no plug in chips to make it better. You have to run a piggyback or a more capable stand-alone.

Hi all, I was wondering what other performance chips are out there for a TC, besides the Unichip?

I plan on going with what a performance shop here in j'ville recommends...NEO...I also plan on running straight motor with some serious mods done....CAI, Exhaust, Headers, Downpipe, ECM Upgrade, Plugs, wires, Injectectors, etc, etc, etc........with the option to run NOS.......jk...it would be fun though

You said wires? You have coilpacks that plug directly into the spark plug. Adding wires, like Nology, only adds resistence. This not only equates to less power to the spark plug (Ohm's Law), but has some destructive cons.







And this is the outcome, damage to your expensive OEM coilpacks.



FYI..... Unichip is not a chip for the tC, but a piggyback module. There are no chips for the Scion ECM as it is encrypted.

Well I was thinkin of the Nology kit but since this looks to be more of a pain then not, I will just forget it.

I guess when I drop it off then I will ask what will be needed to get more power ( less resistance ) to the coil packs....any ideas....I have been running off a "shopping list" that has been modified like 1 million times lol...I am trying to get the right mix of parts that will give me the best bang for my buck... ( family guy w/kid = very little money )

FYI UNICHIP doesn't make a setup for the 07 and up tc yet....or atleast they didn't when I was looking about 4 months ago...

Nology wires are just for show and that's it. I never thought otherwise. What I did not expect was that they would deteriorate almost destroying my coilpacks. If you are planning on high compression or a stroker build then you might want to go with the Okada Projects direct replacement CDI coilpacks. That is what I am upgrading to.
