short ram you dont give up torque like you do with the cai but with cai you give up a little bit of torque but get much more gains in hp. and as for the whole "cai will make you hydrolock in the rain," you really shouldnt be worried about that. the only way you would hydrolock is if you drove your car through 2 feet of water. i had the injen sri for one week to see how it was then switched it to cai the next week. sounds better and feels much better then the sri.

it makes a ticking noise but its very faint. if its cold out, it'll be a little louder. if you didnt install the rubber liner piece where the pipe goes into the wheel well (its spose to protect the intake from being scratched during the install), then it will rattle at times.

The rattling used to happen on my CAI in my Tiburon and I just opended up the fire wall opening a little bit with pliers and you can't even tell that I did . Ratteling is know gone and even if you do happen to hit a 2ft. puddle of water take your foot off the accelerator it helps the chance of it not sucking up some water.
