Default Found a new shop in Florida

Hey everybody. This'll be my first post here with the tC forums. Been trolling around for a while now and you guys are great. I can always find something useful with a quick search. Anyway i figured i'd finally step out of the troll closet and formally sign up. I've got an '07 tC and i just recently found a shop near me in Boca Raton, FL that i went to that offered a lot of cool stuff. I went in for intake and exhaust. I got the GReddy Ti-C cat-back and the DC Sports headers. Everything sounds great now. They also were very informative while i was waiting.. went over everything with me. Told me some options i can look at down the road. While i was there they suggested the air diversion panel too, which i had them throw on. Looks nice and keeps a little extra air giong over my radiator. The intake they installed looks beautiful and they installed an AEM air bypass valve too to keep from hydro-locking with all the rain we get down here. If anyone's in the Boca Raton area, i'd say they're worth a shot. Friendly, seemed very knowledgeable, did all my work right the first time. They also suggested a turbo kit that they said was very reliable, i'll have to get the name later i forgot it >< name of the place is Velocity Factor. their phone number is 561.395.5700. if you call them talk to felipe, he really helped me out a lot. i'll be going back soon `for more when i get some cash together. Going to get some gauges installed next in preparation for that turbo

i'll be posting pictures soon!!! they took some when i was there to put on their website and i need to go back with my thumb drive and get them

I'll keep you posted!!

Forgot to mention I also picked up the GReddy Strut tower brace.

as promised, here are pics. They did such a clean install on everything I'm very impressed.

That strut bar tightened up the car so much.. doesn't feel like it's creaking and twisting every time i wrap around a hard bend.

Looking sharp. You and I have a few things in common. Good info to know about the race shop. If you you don't mind, I am going to copy the info to our Dealer Review section.

Thanks I'm really happy with it so far. If it's okay, I'm posting the link to their website. It's really well laid out too. If not, I'll edit this post.

Velocity Factor They have their site segmented into three categoris: lighting, tires, and performance products. They also carry wheels, including the Volks. They said they have a few sets that will fit our cars, but they're way outside my price budget, after my current mods

Cheers.

Hydro-Locking?? I live in Miami, only a 30 minute drive to Boca but you said they installed an AEM Air Bypass Valve because of all the rain? whats it for exactly and what does it do for you? & how much did you pay

You can read this post about hydro-locking; click here. It has been discussed several times with the overall consensus that this is not an issue on the tC. Read up on it in those posts. If you regularly drive thru deep puddles, then you might want to invest in one.

I paid $50 for it. What it does is when it senses increased intake pressures(it's all mechanical, the inside of it is a series of rubber flaps that stay sealed under normal conditions inside the foam filter) it opens up to allow air to come in through IT, bypassing your intake filter and the water. In my area of Boca, quite a few roads flood rather badly, and a few of them are hard to tell how deep they are, or that they are even deep. $50 versus a hydrolocked motor seems a cheap preventative. With how low this intake sits in my fender well, I personally am not willing to take the chance. The only sad part is that you can't use them on turbo motors.
