question about the transmission

I read in one of the threads about a 6 speed manual that would be coming out for the tc i tried to go to the zpiracing web site but i got nothing i was wondering if anyone had any other info on it or could tell me where to look to find it cause that is something i had been looking at doing when i got the chance but hadn't been able to find one for the tc

ZPI is dead and there is no 6-speed coming out for the tC. ZPI was looking at a 6-speed AWD JDM Celica conversion. Way too expensive. Then they looked at the RAV 4 AWD but realized that it is not a true AWD but that of automatic 4WD.

was talking to a friend that i worked with a while ago that now works for one of the toyota dealerships in SC it is either gene reed or west ashley toyota and he mentioned that toyota is working on a 6 speed for the tc but i don't know if it is true or not i am going to check into it. one can always hope right

Probably for the nex-gen model. Let's hope that it will mate with our block.

i think with the type of community scion is geared toward (lol no pun intended) they will give us the opportunity to share in the joy of a 6-spd tranny. there shouldnt be anything drastically different about what goes into our cars right? what about how you can put any honda engine into just about any honda car? people put cr-v engines into a bubble hatch civic! tC to tC tranny swap shouldnt be that big-a-deal (speaking with no knowledge of a transmission outside of it's location on the car and gear changing).

called and talked to a guy today. he said he was meeting up with some people this weekend and would find out what he could. This wouldn't be a toyota transmission but he is going to find out about having a custom transmission made and about how much i would be looking at will post the info i get. i am just hopeing that it won't be much more than a 6-speed manual from some of the sight i have looked at for other cars but i am figureing it will be.

6-speeds are awesome. Going down the freeway in fifth gear.. then realizing, hey I have another power band. I think I'll shift now. I wish our cars had them. But I am perfectly happy with what I've got.
