Default Bolt-ons and MPG

I am thinking about getting some MMW Headers, and wanted to know if there is any reason my mpg will suffer from this instal. Also wanted to say that my first highway experience with my K&N SRI delivered HIGHER mpg than stock. I went 230 miles on half a tank. Half of that was WITH AC. Anyways, would headers(4-2-1) and s-pipe do damage to my mpg???

Thanks,
-K-

Well it shouldnt change mpg, but it does have a slight impact. Headers, especially has a slight more effect on A/F ratios then simply changing the midpipe or axleback. For the most part headers would give you a bit less of MPG but most people at my weekly meets say it doesnt, Hey it could be my pulley that makes me lose mpg.

Try New Orleans....

When I changed the header and s-pipe, I noticed a slightly better MPG on my long hauls to Texas.

lol.... I'm about to move to Glendale AZ... imagine running a car hard in THAT heat!

So, navylife59, do you have the MMW combo(s-pipe and 4-2-1 header)? if so, how long will that material last, cause I know other things like mufflers have to be replaced after awhile...

WEll mufflers Really dont need to be replaced until like 150+ miles depending on how/where u drive. And that is either because of physical damage. When the material inside mufflers die out, it usually just gets a bit louder. Im assuming headers would be the same, though after 2k miles of my MMW header, it is already spotting and looks pretty ugly.

DC Sports header (4-1) custom 2.5" SS Jotech built exhaust. (2) 12" Topspeed can resonators and HKS Hi-Power muffler. That is it.
