Default TRD Exhaust

Hey

Are the TRD Exhaust worthwhile since they are like $550

I just wondering cause I'm going to get a tC as my first car by the end of the year so i just loading up a list of factory parts to put on it.

to e honest, i feel there's a lot more exhausts that are worth the money.

if it's OEM style you want, megan racing has a good llooking piece youll want to check out
Megan Racing

but in my opinion, it's not worth the money other than you get a dealer installed piece.

how much would it cost around to put on the megan exhaust
like i have friends that can teach me

and the 550 includes dealer installation

i just want to avoid voiding the warranty since im getting it new

Exhausts are easy. Don't be discouraged by it. Just do it yourself and take your time. DIY's are the BEST! Plus you'll learn something in the process. Just get your car up on jack stands sometime and take a minute to examine all of the angles and where it actually goes. Besides, once you start putting the exhaust in, it can really only go in a certain way. It's just a bolt-on mod just like an intake.

And I wouldn't worry about voiding the warranty. The exhaust is considered a normal wear-n-tear item and can be replaced if necessary.

Once you start replacing the header and intake, that's when the warranty can be voided right off the bat.

Yeah exhaust is not of a voiding warranty. So don't trip.

it's been said already, but there are several exhausts that are way better for that price and less. i got the injen for 300ish. most people get the HKS or Greddy. good luck with your mods in the future!

yea 550 is a little (a lot) ridiculous for the trd! try to get it used or from somewhere else cheaper. it'll have no effect on your warranty.

the only thing trd that isnt overpriced is the struts - but thats only cuz all the other brands charge the same prices (~ $450)

Is the TRD a full cat-back exhaust (I'm imagining no because the mid-pipe deletes a factor cat) so $550 for an axle-back is nothing short of ridiculous.

Reputable brands like GReddy, INJEN, HKS will all have axel-backs with better styling, looks, performance and sound.

Unless you can score a great bargain, I really see no sense in settling for a TRD axle-back at $550 a pop.

k thanks ill take it into consideration

i got to pay it myself cause my parents wont do it

but the trd i checked with the dealer and its 300 some for the exhaust itself
and the other 200 some is for installign it

but i took a peak under one and it seems pretty easy to replace and its an axle back not a cat so there is a pipe from the cat and the exhaust begins before the axle area.

The TRD is only good for the stock exhaust. Replace the headers or the mid-piep and it will sound nasty. On the stock exhaust, it had a deep, mellow tone and no rice when you gunned it. My son loves it on his. It was worth the money that I paid for it.

PLEASE dont spend 200 for installation! you can buy a bunch of tools and do it yourself for way less! dont let the dealer tell about the warranty and junk. do it yourself. it's easy and you'll learn something

If your looking for performance stay away from the TRD. I mean it all depends on what your planning on doing with the car. Staying N/A? if so getting headers? Turbo? S/C? but if you do get it at least do it yourself. please.

I bought my 05 Tc with the TRD exhaust already on it so i didnt really have a choice, but i like the sound of it. I've also never heard any of the other exhaust so i cant say anything about them. Im not going to do headers or midpipe though. Just an injen intake and MAYBE the agency pulley. Im not to hardcore anymore into making my cars fast since i ride street bikes. It just doesnt compare. I love this Tc though.
