Talking Has anyone ever tryed this in a automatic?

shift down to 1
wich is first gear...
slowly take off and get to about 4800rpm
and then....
FLOOOR IT!!!

i dont know about yall but this **** throw me so far back in my seat, i used to own a 3100 v6 with 210 hp and it was never able to do that. That 160ftlbs torque in the tc is a force to be reckoned with, now if we would change that power band to around 2-4 k that would be serioussssss

No not true. I do it a lot. My friend has a almost 400whp turbo auto tC and has done it every shift for almost 50,000 miles. His tranny is perfectly fine.

yeah in the book that comes with the tc, it says they put third next to drive (on the horizontal) purposely so drivers can get a better take off. and yes, i constandtly shift in my auto and i hear you on the torque thing, its nasty. right now imlooking at a borla catback exhaust and some kind of intake too. im thinking short ram. really want the injen but its not street legal.

yea I wasnt sure if it was good for the engine or not, I was always wondering why the shifter had the steps in it tho. It would shift so easily back n forth so I figured it was ok as long as u do it right and dont redline all the time. Sometimes Il take it right to the redline, let off the gas, shift and then jump back on the gas again. If you listen you will hear the engine power shift into the next gear. Kinda easy to do once you get the hang of it...Still want that 5th gear tho heh and that 6th one too!

No. Shift as though you were using a 5speed except no clutch.

I do it all the time. Especially when racing, but do what you want. If i screw up my tranny I don't care because i'm going to do a 5spd conversion anyway.

Default it should be alright

before my current automatic scion, i had a mercedes ml 320 and would shift it constantly:

from 1 to 5 and back down. Sometimes if I needed to slow down quickly, i would shift from 5 to like 3rd or 2nd.

I do this w/ my scion too. The computer will also make sure you don't mess up your transmission by preventing downshifts. If you're in 4th going 80 and you shift to 1st, it will keep it at 3rd until you're at like 50 mph, 2nd until your at like 30 and 1st until you're at 2500 rpm. (or something like that)
