Default Difference between 05-06 and 07-08 intakes

What is the difference between the 05-06 and 07-08 intakes? I was lookin at one for the tC but it's off of a 06. It's a K&N intake, and I was wondering if there was any way that it would work or if it's just a snow balls chance in hell. Let me know so I can adjust my ignorance.

i believe the difference is in the location of the MAF (mass air flow) sensor. the position changed from 06 to 07. that's why there are different intakes for the different years.

it's a minor difference (maybe the only difference), but im sure it wont work swapping the years

Yeah, it may seem like a small change, but modifying the original placement of the MAF, can mean the difference between running fine, and running way lean.

I think there was also a change on the design of the throttle body opening...the 07+ was made slightly larger...that was what I was told when I was looking at some CAI's...hence an 06- CAI would not fit the 07+...

it's amazing that minor changes like that would warrant a completely new intake. is that why they changed the s/c as well?

did this change improve the stock performance of the 07+ tC's over the 06-?

One and only difference is the sensor. It is an updated design with different electrical characteristics than the '05-06 models. It has a smaller footprint. The ECM is also pinned slightly different because of this and the fact that all 2007-up cars are Federally mandated to be 100% CAN compliant. The '05-06 are hybrids as they are OBDII modules with CAN capabilities. That is why the OBD gauges like the Greddy Intelligent Informeter, the MSD Dashhawk, and the Blitz R-Vit don't work; pins #6/#14 aren't populated.

.......My Dashhawk works great in my Son's RS3.0

Thanks, but not worthy of such stature. Look, I can't even get my tool of an intake figured out to run.
