A cat back exhaust or cold air intake. There are a variety of prices, so you can spend anything. I would go for quality stuff though

injen is one of the most popular intakes cuz u can convert back and forth from cold air to short ram.

definitely look around and do research and ask around this forum. plenty of knowledgeable tC owners

AEM CAI was my choice before boosting really nice

but back to the thread topic .. i believe NOS will give the most HP
wether its a 25 50 or 100 shot .. it goes STRAIGHT to the wheels .. u may loose 1 or 2 HP due to drivetrain loss but u still get a majority of the power to the wheels

I just got finished reading this thread, and i have some imput n some things..

underdrive pulleys can dyno up to 10hp on a dyno, depending on if its a mustang dyno or dyno jet...in my mitisubushi lancer ralliart i got a 5hp gain and 7tq gain on a mustang dyno which is really good for a $100 pulley...

if any of you were wondering the dyno difference b/w the two is that the mustang dyno will yeild more "realistic" numbers and a dynojet(most known and used) usally dynos at about a 10-15% increase. Dynojets are good for braggin rights and mustangs hurt feelings

Also, I also found out that auto trannys put down higher tq numbers than man. When me and my buddy dyno our lancers (same mods) i put down about 10 more tq than he did but he had about 7 more horses than i did. So autos arnt that bad...

Anyone feel free to correct any infor that i may have got wrong...but this infor is from my experience..

As for the auto vs manual thing Even though you two had the same cars and mods the hp and torque numbers will change. No two engines are the same, and there are countless factors to consider. But ill just take your word for it now.

my boy was tellin me that in the '09 Evo, the automatic is is faster than the stick. i cant believe it, but he said the automatic tranny was tested and proven to shift faster than a human...

i told him i have to be driving the stick car to be convinced no matter what cuz i think im pretty quick. no computer is quicker than ME!!!

Actually I believe that. That is why they are starting to have Paddle shifters in all the high performance cars now like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and (i think) the 09 lancer? Im not sure bout the lancer, but I think I read it some where.

that makes me mad... taking away the essence and beauty of driving a performance vehicle --- having control of the power! that's what's bothering me about the Lexus IS and Mercedes C63 AMG versus the M3. the first two have that "step-tronic" garbage where you can go back and forth from auto to manual.

i dunno i just like to use both feet and both hands to drive and control what the car is doing. the car should be an extension of the driver.

The MR evo 9 is quicker around the track than the 5 speed as well....but i wondering why auto put down more tq, and the shop owner said in his 20 years of service, auto tranny's put down a little more tq than man. b/c of the way autos are configured, but they do not always yeild the same horsepower.

But the real reason behind automakers putting these triptronic autos in cars is for sales..if more people can drive the car, more will buy..at least that is what they think!!!

True on the marketing part of cars. Not many people can drive stick which is kind of sad. And i agree with the performance argument about the car being an extension of you, but if all i have to do is flick a paddle .80 of an inch to shift i'm that much faster than the next guy. And it is pretty bad ass too

yea i agree on all of that. there are a lot people who dont know how to drive stick. people are so scared of it. and i guess for those people, it's appealing to have an auto that can somewhat mimic stick. but i cant drive without a clutch.

I wish i had a stick. It sucks sooo bad. Especially when i go to car shows and i have to tell people that i have an auto. But I burn a lot of 5 and 6 speeds tho so im happy. Then when they se i have an auto they get the puddled WTF!?!?!? look on their face haha.
