Post Looking 4 A CAI?

I'm looking for a CAI but don't know which one i should get. It's my first ride and well don't really know what to trust and whats good. I'll be working pretty soon (i'm turning 16 in June 29th) and i plan on saving up for the car.

I have an Injen Cold Air Intake on my 08 Super White and I love it, can definitely feel a quicker throttle response and a little more high-end torque/power. Plus it makes a pretty mean growl; i definitely recommend it!

Agreed on the Injen. I think youre going to be the youngest tC owner yet

Thnx for the recommendation
Could you guys show the prices and possibly a link?

I'm pretty happy about the car (being my first and all) but i have to work to buy all the parts/accesories i'd want in the car.

This is what I bought for my car. It was the best price on the internet at the time...it could have changed though.

eBay Motors: INJEN COLD AIR INTAKE 07-08 SCION TC SP2114 (item 350055606148 end time May-11-08 10:54:02 PDT)

It might look a little pricey, but it is well worth the investment.

i had a injen CAI on my civic back in the day. it was a good intake... i liked the fact that i was able to take the CAI section off to make it a short ram during the rainy/snowy seasons.

i honestly dont think i would get another one though. the chrome/polished silver turned all crappy after about a year. if i do an intake it'll be either a black Fujita short ram or a K&N typhoon (to stick with the stock look under the hood)

when I had my injen I had it black instead of polished. It looked pretty awesome.

My Son has an Injen on his tC. Not too impressed with the quality; the shine was scratchy looking and it had burrs inside that had to be filed down. Fits good though.

I suppose it would be OK. Looking at the pic, the tubing material looks thick enough. Being that is the only product offered for the tC, how much research went into it's design. As I know first hand, you can't just slap the MAF on a bigger tube and expect it to work ( I knew this already). I would find others that have it or play it safe and go with a more reputable vendor.

Well i wasn't really looking to buy it unless it was worth it or not.
I was just looing around and it just caught my eye!
Not really sure what a MAF is so i'm a little confused
On the other hand i do want to do some more research and maybe see about buying it, or i'll just go with the previous suggestions.

I have all the time in the world to reseach. Still don't have a job, need to wait until June 29 (16th B-day) Just trying to find and calculate what i want later in the future.

Research, Research, ask questions, then more research. Our car is still considered new on the market, as in, we don't have alot offered compared to Hondas, Mitsubishi, Subaru, or Nissans. When Toyota dropped the Supra and the Celica, alot of manufacturers stopped making parts and gave up on Toyota. Sometimes, though, you get stuck with a lemon like I did with my Axis wheels.

MAF - Mass Airflow sensor. It measures the volume of air entering the intake. Along with other sensors, it determines helps the ECM (engine control module) to determine the load on the motor and set air/fuel ratios (AFR) correctly.

when you make a list off all the things you want with the prices you get depressed. I did this last week and it was at 4 grand and I wasnt done yet.
Sigh
