i would go for the simple stuff like I/H/E and if u have enough in the end try and get a fly wheel or a short shifter if u have a standard tC

I/H/E, s-pipe, pulley, short shifter, better tires - that may put you at the brink of 2 grand

I agree with TBITB, those mods that were listed should put you at about 2K, if you spend some time to shop around then you can most likey save yourself a little bit of money.

Are ya joking or serious about the cheap chip? The Toyota ECM's are not easily fooled by cheap.

yea dont skimp on price with something like computer chips! for your "contest" you should be good with the stuff we've mentioned.

intake - dont think it matters too much which intake you get - $200-$250
header - go with WeaponR cuz it comes with the S-pipe as well - $489
exhaust - GReddy, HKS, Injen are the best - $370
tires - almost anything is better than the stock ones
- i have kumho ecstas - $72 per tire on tirerack.com
pulleys - a little over $150 i think
short shifter - $75-$170

taking the high end of this list puts you at $1717 (before shipping of course)

strip your car! this is free and will help you alot..im surprised none of you mentioned this. Take out your spare tire and tire wrench along with the jack. you will loose a good 45-50lbs right there. Your racing a v6 so your going to want to make your car a bit more quicker on the acceleration. Get a pulley, intake, header, exhaust and lightweight rims with the rest of the money.

WOW good idea Beyond305! since it's only a one time deal, take your front passenger seat out too! that's probably 40-50 lbs as well!

i might just do that today just for the heck of it! lighten up!

o and empty the windshield wiper resevoir! and when it's time, run near an empty tank of gas! every little bit of weight counts!

Strip the entire car, run on a 1/4 tank of gas.

Run 50-75 shots of nitrous, and spend the remaining money on intake, s-pipe, exhaust, and header.

In that order.

No way you will lose.

All great ideas. Club-tC has a sticky on shedding weight on the tC.

Listed are some heavy metal brackets that can be removed that were there just for the Scion's joyride cruise from Japan.
