Default good SR intake?

I have a magnaflow exhaust I was thinking of getting a weapon r intake. Anyone have suggestions on what intake would go well w.a magnaflow to make the best noise?

i didnt know there was a certain combination of intakes to give certain noises i would think the exhaust would be the overall determining factor in noise level since all intakes are just about the same...

I thought SR intake had some effect on noise? If it doesn't then what can I add besides an exhaust to add more noise?

SR will have an effect on noise - but i mean i dont think there will be a substanstial difference from one SR to another.

headers will make you noisy as well... intake+headers+exhaust=lots of noise!

but, just curious, why are you so concerned with noise?

injen is pretty popular cuz u can go back and forth from CAI to SRI.

weapon r SRI is a good one too.

you really cant go wrong with any of them... AEM, Injen, Weapon R... a couple people on the forum have even gone with the ebay special...

I have a magnaflow and I had my Injen CAI on it. Sounds sooooooooo good. Then I put headers on and it became raspy, but my cars a sleeper now. When people pull up the think I just have a fart can.

yes it does if you install anything that is aftermarket there goes the warranty on the car the dealerships are really sensitive on these mods

but the fine print says if that mod is the result of a failure, then your warranty is voided. if u have an aftermarket intake, and ouy have to replace your springs or something, you should be fine. they may try to give you a hard time cuz most people assume the worst. but it should be in the contract

if you go with trd - and the dealer installs - then you get a warranty. if the intake blows your engine up - ur covered! (i think... but you get a warranty for sure!)

i think the trd cai is actully an injen cai slightly modified... and overpriced...

yes if you stick with the TRD performance parts and have you dealership install them you will most deffinatly get a warranty because TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development and Scion is a branch off of Toyota lol

yea they have to do it. they wont wanna fix your mistakes.

it's worth it to spend the extra money for certain things like the s/c or something else that has a higher rate of failure. intakes dont really fail tho unless you put it on wrong so it's worth the risk

yeah im also looking at the weapon r, i hear good things about it and they got some good lookin chicks on their page (irrelevant but still a bonus haha) but in all seriousness the weapon r looks legit. the injen as far as i no isnt street legal. like posted in my other thread, you can always pull the trick of buying an inspection sticker from a gas station. a bit illegal but i know alot of my friends do it because of their mods. im going to be matching my intake with a borla catback exhaust.

oh but whoever asked about the weapon r with the magnaflow. search weapon r intake for scion tc in google and one of the first links send you to youtube with a tc with the weapon r intake and a magnaflow exhaust and you get to hear it. i mean, you obviously dont hear the true sound because of internet streaming and whatnot, but you get the idea, sounds good to me.
