Before i say anything further, i am electrical savy, not mechanical savy but ever since i got this car, i am learning.... i want\need mechanical experience in future upgrades so let me say what my new 07 is doin-
I am bout to take it out on the drag strip next friday to race a friend in his 97 dodge avenger. I have been playin around with my car on the street and i have been messin with it, racin the engine, in between the 800 - 900 mile mark. I have an auto tranny but when i am racin on the street, i like to manually take control of the gears, period. So, of course, L to 2 to 3 to drive if taken off from a stop of course. Anyways, after a while of racin, the engine bay has a horrendous amount of heat emitting from under the hood. Now, i can understand maybe that everything is new but i serisouly do not believe that it will just... go away after it's broken in, no way. This is what i am after- Before i even think about makin the car any faster, what options are out there to get that engine cooler for what i am doing? I manually switch gears once they hit 5Krpm, sometimes 5500 but only in 1st or 2nd. I am mainly lookin for cooling options that will help out now, when i really go out on the 1\8th mile drag strip next week and for future upgrades. Thanks guys. |

i hear fan shroud cover will help direct more air through radiator and help cooling. also vented hood will help. header wrap or ceramic coating. also if you are running themhot alot try switching to synthetic fluid it will protect it better and give you little more power. water wetter is supposed work good. also running water not mixed with anti frezee will cool little better.
