i just put the injen cold air intake on my 07 tc and you can tell that it has put a couple more hairs on the tc's balls i've only had one problem with it and that is the hose fitting that connects the intake pipe to the throttle body seems a little short and it came off a little bit and i was more or less running on straight throttle but when i got home i fixed it. no worries.

Erm. . . for the 07' I don't think there are any CARB Approved CAI system yet. I have yet to find one. BTW, i've joined up with the Nor Cal Scikotics. Weapon-R has the SRI, But still no CARB Sticker on it. Hmm . . I've been wanting to put in a CAI for my car, and the ONLY option I THINK I have is the actual TRD CAI, which costs an arm and a leg for me. I don't wanna pay that much and perform less than the Injen CAI. Hey guys, let me know if you DO know a manufacturer with a CAI that I can install in CA!! CA is a pain in the ass.

You don't need a new engine if you hydrolock. All you are doing is flooding the intake with water, quenching combustion. Guess what? Wait 5 mins, crank the engine over a few times, and presto! You got yourself a running engine. I had a '79 and and '83 Merc Capri that has an air intake that sets lower than the CAI on a tC. It only hydro locked once during severe flooding. The car was lowered. I did the above and it ran fine. N new motor needed.

Damn AEM. All of this great hydro controversy and incorrect info is all because of their product. If hydrolocking is such a problem, then why are they the only company that I know of that offers this product.

Just use common sense, research for yourself, and don't listen to all of the hype. Making informed product decisions can keep you from gett'n mocked by your friends if you were to show up sport'n a turbonator,

Yeah, i always thought it was funny how AEM was the only one to make a bypass, seriously, to me its nothing but a circular sponge!!, now what is that gonna do! Besides if u read the papers that come with it(my brother has one on his civic) it says in some cases may reduce hp gains from the CAI, so screw it!!

One thing, it is not really a valve. Air sucks through it all of the time. Of course, following least resistence the air goes mainly through the main filter.

has anyone hear heard of an arc box?people say its better than a cold air intake ..kuz injen aem cai are made up of steel which heats up because you engine is heating it up which yeah makes the air warm or the same as it was before you installed your cai..and you may hydrolock if your car is lowered..so they say arc box is made of alluminum so it does heat as much as a steel pipe does and gives you more of an hp gain!so ieono what to get guys..any one heard of an arc box or has a diferent point of view?

What you are talking about is heatsoak. It is just a build up of heat on the internal strata of surfaces, whether or not, they are metal, plastic, glass, wood, etc. Steel retains heat more than aluminum with copper transferring heat the best. Copper corrodes too easily, so aluminum being the best compromise.

If heatsoak is a problem you can just wrap your intake piping with Thermotec
