Monster Motorworks aka Weapon R has released a race header that I think looks really good. Supposedly it makes more hp than any of the other headers out there according to their dyno sheets.

The new Monstor Motorworks header is made by Weapon R and based on their dyno, when its combined with an intake and catback exhaust it makes 26whp and 24 ft/tq. It also includes an s-pipe.

A note on the DC Sports ceramic coated header....
A lil quality control issue with how the attach the pipes to the collector. They weld two pipes together then thse together with the other two. They then hammer it down to to press it into the collector then weld that all together. No prob with the weld but there was quite a bit of flow disrupting burrs left inside the collector. I had a hell of a time filing those out, plus it removed the ceramic coating in that area. Cause for a possible hot spot? We shall see. This is also not a true 4-2-1 header that I thought was the case. It is actually a 4-1 and hence the issue with the angry bees and the TRD exhaust.

To install the DC headers, you can do it yourself it's just a basic bolt-on. But if you want to pay a bodyshop I think it shouldn't be more than $50.

I'm ready to purchase and install headers on my 07 tC. i am most likely going to go with the mmw set up because i want a 4-2-1 stainless setup and an s-pipe. What are you all doing about the cat??? does the tc have 2 cats? (i havent been under the car enough to check it out)
2 things... 1. is that ive heard that certain cars dont run right w/o a cat, is this true with the tc? and 2. this is my daily driver, i dont see how i'm going to pass inspection w/o a cat...
any advice? comments?

The tC runs solid without the header CAT or the after cat in the mid-pipe. I ran w/o the 1st for a long time with the anti-fouler trick; no probs. I am now completely catless; no probs. As for passing emissions, you won't pass the visual inspection. Not sure about the hydro-carbon tests.

Alphawerks it probably the best one out ther imo. The only bad thing is that it's going to be hard for you to find one. Alphawerks stopped producing headers for the scion tc. Weapon R is garbage, do not get it. They made lies, on another forum, some guy posted the actual gain and it was lower by like 8 hp. (forgot what forum) between dc and megan, i'd say megan.

It was lower than stated. I have yet to see the catalytic converter on our cars but if it is a metallic cat then the gains should be minimum if the flow characteristics are correct (probably aren't).

Either way I have found quite a few headers in my search:

Strup has a long-tube 4-1 Header
Megan has a "shorty" 4-1 Header
DC Sports has a 4-2-1 Header
OBX Racing has a 4-1
Alphawerks has a 4-1
Monster Motorwerks has a 4-1

You can make the choice based on what you know of each company. If you want low end grunt go for a shorter header with shorter tubes. Long tubes with less restriction drop your torque but allow better top end and with this car top end is where it's at.

You choice though.

DC Sports is not a 4-2-1. It is strictly a 4-1. I know that it is written in a few places as a 4-2-1, but all the tubes are crammed together at the collector. They are actually squared together. I will try to post a pic of it soon.

what do you mean by the "anti-fouler" trick? - as for my plan, the mmw headers arrive this week on friday (may 18), i plan to leave the mid-pipe cat as is, and install the mechanical CEL eliminator. i figure as long as i have 1 cat on the car (the mid-pipe cat), and no check engine lights flashing, it will be legal. plus i know an auto shop who will pretty much just give me a sticker with no issues.

i would never buy ANYTHING from megan racing. cheap knock-off's for the most part. -- DC's alright but they dont offer stainless steel for the tc, and as navylife said, its not a true 4-2-1 design, not to mention there are some issues with the merge collector. --- as for W.R. their Scion division is called 'Monster Motorworks. Ive never been a fan of weapon-r products but it appears as though they've drastically improved over the past few years. They are the ONLY company to offer a T-304 stainless steel (4-2-1) set up, and a true 4-2-1 design, not to mention the headers come with an S-pipe AND an excellent warranty. As for the power gains, they are posting 15whp and 14.2ft/lbs torque on a stock motor, and with an intake and full exhaust, around 25whp. for $600, i think its worth every penny compared to what else is out there.

check out these 2 pages....

I agree. It looks like MMW headers look like a well thought out product. On a NA motor, you will see the best performance gains with 4-2-1 setup giving you a stronger torque curve where you make your power most; low to mid RPM. The question is, are the MMW headers made of true T-304 SS or just coated like Meagan products?

The anti-fouler trick is the same as the mechanical CEL eliminator. 2 anti-foulers from the autoparts 'HELP' section are threaded together with the upper one drilled out w/ 1/2" bit to accomodate the O2 sensor. This is threaded into the S-pipe. It pulls the sensor out of the exhaust stream so that it gets a skewed reading, thus, no CEL.
