i heard cai are not so great..because the piping is made out of steel and since the engine is hot it heats up the steel so you dont get much of an hp gain...and since cai filter is located near the bottom of your engine if you run of a puddle your car maybe going into hydro lock..so i say go with an arc it is made with alluminum which doesnt heat as much as steel and i heard you get about 12 to 15 hp gains!but yeah reply back for whoever agrees or disagrees!!!coo

yeah tru but i heard that it has air being sucked in from the bottom??well i dont know just heard of the arc box a week ago..why do the people from the shop say for hp gain arc is the way to go other then cold air intakes and they sell both so..ieono if they are tryn to watch my back or make an even bigger sale with the arc box

remember an arc box only replaces the stock air box. a CAI will replace all the piping back to the throttle body, giving you a lot better air flow, i'd research it a lot more if i were you, at least in my opinion. just installed my injen CAI two days ago and it's great.

the injen cold air intake filter sits in the bumper. it's completely covered from rain if you do it right the only way you would run into hydro lock is if you stuck the car in a pool i mean a real pool not a pool of water. also if you remove the insert in the front bumper so def go with the cold air. thats what i have.

any ideas on what a bypass valve does??does it work or help or decrease the hp gain??reply please anybody..because i am still debating on if i should get a cold air intake im going to get my exhaust first!im going hks so yea..is injen carb legal?
|
|

yeah injen is carb legal. as far as the by pass goes should be no loss in power. all it does is in the rare case you do get some moisture in the air the it will keep it out of the engine

just go with the bypass if you're really worried about ever running into a situation where you'll hydrolock. most companies sell if not supply them with their intakes, also, look for a CAI that can be easily converted to a short-ram...like the injen

Just so everyone is "CLEARED" about CAI's or SRI's . . . NO NO NO None of those are legal . . no way, no how. In California . . no way is it legal to replace the stock intake. ASK Squallheart . . or anyone else from CA. . sorry Hotrice . . no pointin at you or anything. Just wanted to clear it up.

well i'm not sure how it works out in cali but i didn't think that the laws could anymore strict anywhere other than virginia. normally with this crappy state they will get you for anything and i mean anything. cops will stop you if you don't have the right county sticker around here.
