I bought my car from Karl Malone Toyota located in Sandy UT. First and hopefully worst experience from a dealership. Bought the car and got the extended waranty, shame on me. But here's were I am unhappy, car went 24k miles and they never mentioned changing the air filter, not once. Then since I had free oil changes I would go for a change ever 3k miles cus I drive my car pretty hard, all the mechanics did was give me guff for it saying I could go 5-10 miles between changes! What the heck are they smoking is what I thought.
Now my front right wheel bearing is making a low pitched humming/pulsing noise at speed and it gets louder the more I turn the wheel to the left. It goes away completely when I turn the wheel right. I told them this, they looked at it and said, "Your front right wheel bearing is bad you need to replace it, we can tell the car has been in an impact so it's not covered under waranty." My car has never been in an impact ever! It's my baby and the worse I do to it is aggressive freeway driving.
Then one day my windshield wipers ran out of fluid so ok go buy more fluid and refill it right? I refilled it and no go, turns out that the fluid is leaking out all over the ground. Like a good little customer I take the car to the dealer to have look at it not thinking to look myself because I needed an oil change anyways + that's what they are for right? well they told me I need to replace the wiper fluid and the motor and it would total out to be about 300 + labor and that the bearing would be about 250 + labor as well.
I thought this is BS so i took the car home got under it and saw that the hose had come off of the pump itself. Cut the hose back and used some pvc pipe clue and stuck it back on. now six months later it works GREAT! I went to NAPA to look up the price of a new bearing and they said it's about 65 bucks with tax and that I'll need a machinist to swap the bearing into it's housing and that they'll charge probably about 20 bucks to do that.
So in short my 550$ + labor repair ends up being 65$ + machinist labor. This is bs and I say it's WAY worse than your average nickle and dime dealership IMHO. I've had plenty of friends who bought new cars and had troubles with em all say that they've never been bent over like this before.
