I agree with Navy. You do not NEED them.
People think that bigger brakes and pads and rotors will make them stop better. As long as when you are driving if you slam the brakes on, the ABS kicks in or tires lock up, then the brakes are good enough. I autocross and track my car and have never had brake fade or overheating. You will never get the car to those limits on daily roads so it isnt an issue. A big brake kit does not solve stopping issues, tires do. BBK, is for mahor track use, or big points at a car show. I want a big brake kit now because I need to finish off my wheel well at the car shows. NCCA gives alot of points for a BBK.

This is where I think these "professional" car shows have lost sight. It is almost like they are promoting products for manufacturers. I was going to enter the HIN in Dallas last year. Fat chance as one of their prerequisites are aftermarket wheels. I agree that most OEM wheels look like crap, but you have to admit that the tC's wheels are top notch. They are lightweight, good looking, and reliable.
Tires and brake pads are going to provide the most braking performance enhancements for you. The next step would be to upgrade your rotors to cross-drilled/slotted units. The braking power from this enhancement will only be realized on the track where constant hard braking is found, although, you will find better braking on the street. As nick06tc stated, the ABS will be limiting you on hard braking.

I agree about the car shows. I just entered HIN last weekend. Its a competetive world. I think that is why they have the wheels rule. A car that doesnt have a set of aftermarket wheels MOST LIKELY wont be a show worthy car. You cant look at a car and tell it is fast. You can look at a car and tell it is hooked up. They want a good show, not a car that supposedly is fast.
Even with everything I have done to my car, I was still in the entry level category. There was Mild, Wild, Elite. I was Mild. Its a tough crowd at real shows.

Scion Corporate did come by and ask who owned the car. When I said, I do they gave me a backpack and asked my name and said they were walking around and recognized me as having the Nicest scion. That was good for me

Dont underestimate the value of good pads
If i ever do something to the brakes, i probibaly will just go with the big rotor front/stock size vented ones and leave the stock calipers on.

Thats OK. Just PM if you have questions. The TRD crank bolt is capable of handling more ft lbs. of torque that is necessary for the strain applied to the crank pulley underload from the TRD S/C. You could use the OEM bolt but there would be no guarantees that it would stand up under heavy load. Contact TRD Sparks for replacement.
