Break problem

The breaks are acting funny on my 07 tC. Occasionally when I go to break the pedal judders as it’s going down and the breaks don't engage until it stops juddering. I haven't noticed any pattern as to when it happens, sometimes it’s when I am turning and sometimes it’s when I am headed straight. It hasn't happened too many times, but I don't know what it could be. Any ideas?

have you checked ur brake lines and brake fluid. it could be due to a loose line.

Take it carefully to the Dealer ASAP. Sounds like a problem with the ABS or EBDC systems. Brakes are no joke. Any problems have to be addressed immediately!

Guess I'll do that on Monday. I am pretty close to my 5k mark anyway so I'll have them do the oil and all too. Any one know if they use synthetic oil at the dealerships or do you have to ask for it?

uve gone 5k without an oil change??

Yes. Its kind of silly to change it every 3k. The dealer recommended 5k as well.

Yeah, the Maintenance Required for my 2007 Camry light has not come on yet and I am at 4300K miles. My 2007 Tundra came on at 4K miles. Traditionally, you changed your oil on a new car or motor at 500-100- miles. This was called the "break-in" oil as the rings and valves "seat". There is also assembly lube and anti-corrosion coatings on the bearings, along with metal shavings from the engine manufacturing processes, being trapped in the filter. The quality of the oil in the past was considered poor by today's standards. Today's oils are chemically altered to be far superior. Pure synthetics raised the bar further.

I was late changing the oil in my Tundra, I found metal shavings in my filter cartridge (no regular spun on filter here). With the close tolerances of todays engines allowing the use of more energy efficient lightweight oils (5W-20 in my Tundra), requires better oils and filtration.

hey i get that brake problem too (07 tc) when i try and brake too fast, it just sounds like a bunch of grinding and the pedal kinda bumps up and down

That what you describe is got ABS braking action. There is nothing wrong with your car strike1370. As with bwood87, the ABS braking system should only operate in a straight forward hard stop. The EDBC works primarily in hard/fast turns when the brakes are applied and a loss of traction is detected. To prevent spin out or an understeer condition, only the skidding tire will have the ABS system applied.
