The front sway bar isn't as near a "bang for the buck" investment as the rear sway bar. As a matter of fact, it's so disproportionate benefit/cost wise its borderline not worth it to have it.
Why? The rear sway bar is actually a simpler procedure to install. The front sway bar takes about twice as long to install, and will end up costing you more should you choose to have someone else install it. The rear sway bar is so great (especially with upgraded endlinks) because with the tC's FF set up, the stiffened rear section drastically reduces understeer. Balancing your suspension with rear/front sway bars is the elementary way to compensate for understeer/oversteer. Improving the front sway bar, though it will stiffen the car overall, will tend to induce a slight bit of understeer. Get other mods first. You may notice I put in quite a bit of text here, because I've had so much experience with working on vehicles suspension wise. Unless you can get Front and Rear sway bars installed both at the same flat rate, then I'd wait on it, or just skip it all together. Remember, stiffest settings on the rear, gentler on the front.

just a side note to that I asked Hotchkis how much for the front one was to install (since i dont have the tools for it) and they quoted me $255...
Also long story short I emailed them about gettin just the rear sway and they sold one to me for $110 with the Zerks fittings too! |

Don't forget that you will need to get the front realigned (suggest a 4 wheel). You have to completey disconnect the front cross-member and drop it 2 inches for the front swaybar install. Might as well drop in a LW flywheel, performance clutch, and perhaps and LSD while your at it.
Listen to Soulbane recommendations. He is wise with the ways of the Force!

Hi, i'm new btw, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Eric. How are you.
Ok, but to get on with our lives, i have a question. since you had to do something to install the front sway bar, do you have to do any special mod to install the rear sway bar and have it working correctly? Thanks |
