I don't think it's neccessary, the drop on the TRD's are not that aggressive. I believe only 1 inch.

In my opinion if you don't upgrade the shocks your stock shocks will eventually give out. If you look at the articles for spring and shock install youll notice that the trd springs are shorter than the stock springs. The stock shocks will be operating at a different legnth than what it was designed for. Again only my observation and opinion.

Heating or cutting springs are never a good idea. Springs function on tension. If you cut or heat them you mess up the tension. That's at least what my high school auto shop teacher told me, haha. Springs are so cheap you might as well bite the bullet and buy them.

TRD springs are similar to Eibach springs.. I've had the Eibachs on the car for over a year and they are very comfortable.. NO problems with the shocks as of now..

Actually, springs don't function on tension. Tension is a force on an object that pulls it apart. The type of spring we're talking about are compressed, and therefore, are acted upon by compression. What gives a spring its properties is its "springiness" or "spring constant," in physics terms. Semantics aside, I completely agree. Cutting or heating springs are poor options. Cutting the spring will change its dynamics (the amount it can flex or compress) and heating will alter the spring constant. Neither is even close to wise.

change out the shocks with the springs so u'll never have to worry about suspension woes again. plus, the shock is tuned for the drop. and its more than 1" drop for sure.

get the trd shocks AND springs! if you get springs by itself, u will eventually have to change the shocks. why not get it as a package and save some money. also, the shocks reduce soo much body roll for the car. i only have the rear shocks on right now because i had an issue with my front shocks that were sent to me. the rear shocks alone reduced the body roll i had previously by about 50%! IMO the trd drop is perfect. a nice low tuck but not slammed. the official drop is 1.25 inches all around i think but once the springs settle they may get lower by about .25 inches or so. you cant go wrong with trd shocks and springs
