coilovers definately...without them you will get a very loose ride that will not only feel bad, it will look bad. Ever see those cars on the highway that are lowered and always seem to be bouncing wayyyy to much? coilovers prevent that but still give a great look and ride

I have my Tein Coilovers and love them!!! I decided to go with this rather than just springs because if you still springs on your stock shocks they will inventually blow

First post here, so I'll be nice about this: Springs bounce. That's what they are made to do. So, bouncing isn't a result of "poor springs," it's just what they do. A car that bounces too much is a result of inadeguate dampening (shocks/struts). If you put stiff springs on your car and don't upgrade the shocks, you will bounce. It's that simple. A spring like the Tein H.Tech will not bounce on stock dampers because they are only a bit (approx 20%) stiffer than the stock springs. Butm the Tein S.Techs--which are an extremely good spring--will create a bouncey ride, unless sportier dampers are also installed. As for the OP's question of springs or COs: What's your budget? What is your goal? No one answer is right for all drivers. COs are a great all inclusive solution because (if you buy a good set) they pair springs with correct dampers and they let you adjust the ride height--which is a by-product of performance tuning, they were not made to slam a car becasue it looks cool. The downside of COs is they are expensive. A good set up like Tein will run you $800-1500. Springs are cheaper, $125-200 depending on brand. But, like I mentioned in my first paragraph, springs may require better dampers be installed and that can cost another $300-600. |

i have tein ss coilovers with edfc on my tc. i love them. The ride height is adjustable but you have to be outside your car for that. My edfc controls everything else from inside the car. if i am taking a long trip or just cruising around i soften up the ride and it rides really smooth. if i'm at the track or just wanna play around i will stiffen them up and it make cornering and track times so much better. I think coilovers are the best. Then again it all about the person what they want from their car and how much they are willing to spend.
