a way of identifying what city or state some of the members are...for example i'm from the midwest but not sure who else here might be from there in case we have questions on local shops or random questions....

I think it would be neat to be able to leave someone a message on their profile page. Like if it's somebody's b-day, instead of sending them a private message or e-mail you can just drop them a line there. Also like someone else said about where everyone is from. Can't you put it under our picture, so when we post to a thread you can see it?
