    Default Tire Wear

I bought the car used with 48k and put new tires on. They were avons which i know nothing about. but now 7k later the front are getting close to worn out, thing is i rarely ever squeel them and don't do burnouts or anything. Any ideas of what could be causing such fast wear?

48K mile old car + tire name brand i never heard of = it could be a few things...

you may need an alignment, new springs, new shocks... and you may need to get better tires...

i dont know what your budget is, but i got Kumho Ecsta AST tires for less than $70 apiece. i have 16K miles on them and they still ride great (and i burnout now and then)

i'd also suggest takin it to toyota to get the suspension looked at. even a few degrees one way or the other can make a huge difference.

    good luck!

sounds good, yeah the guy who was putting them on said he normally used continentals and that he never used this kind before =/. also i don't know if it means anything but if you accelerate a little too hard they feel like they "hop" around a bit idk if thats normal or not

with that info, it sounds like you may need an alignment.

also, check the tread depth left on the tires. i forget what the measurement is supposed to be off-hand but a simple google search should help you there.

You can always do the penny method.

Stick a penny in your tread. If you see the top of lincolns head its time to replace your tires.
