    Default Tire Pressure

Hey, well i live in NY and i mean the winters here aren't terrible but it gets annoying. So my question is tire pressure, i follow the recommended factory tire pressure labeled on the driver side door. I check my tire pressure on a fairly regular basis. My tire pressure light goes off within a few days or so. I ask myself "just add more air" but what is a fairly safe tire pressure for when it's cold out. Can i go over the factory tire pressure? and if so by how much. Do you guys have any personal experiences. Your help is greatly appreciated.

There are max PSI ratings on the sides of your tires. You can go up to that without the tire blowing. I would never advise it though. The higher you go in pressure, the less contact patch you have on the road. Not a very good situation to be in. Not to mention the center of the tire will wear very quickly and they will not last long at all.

Regular air fluctuates with the ambient temperature in the enviroment. Which is why some people have to decided to fill their tires with Nitrogen, since it does not respond to the ambient temperatures around it. I'd just stick with what you're supposed to.

The tag on the driver's door post states nominal tire pressures.
