    Default Wheel spacers help

    Hey everyone,

I've been looking into wheel spacers lately and I was hoping that someone more knowledgeable than I could share some insight. I really like the look of the stock tC rims but I want them to be flush with the fender. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with this. What size spacer would I need to make the stock rims flush with the fender, would this result in any fitment/rubbing issues when the car is dropped on Raceland coilovers, and what brand do you recommend? Also, are there any other parts or hardware required when you install the spacers? I know the spacers should be hubtronic for dependability and safety reasons, but that's about all I know so far, lol. I've been looking at H&R hub spacers and they seem pretty nice, but I'd like to hear if anyone else has had experience with these before I drop so much money on a set.

Any information will be greatly appreciated! And my tC is an 07 if that helps anything.

You should put your tC in it's lowered stance before you invest in spacers. Agreed that the OEM wheels just miss on filling out that wheel well at the OEM height and there is some wiggle room to slide out the stance. Tire size matters when you are pushing out the wheels so you need to get your final tire size on the car before measuring for spacers. After you are lowered you will need an alignment. Depending on the drop, you may have to dial-out the negative camber that arises from dropping. With spacers you are concerned only with the outside tire clearances as the inside is inconsequential. This is where your final camber will cause fitment issues or not. You have to also look at suspension deflection for the front wheels and clearances when the steering wheel is in the locks (extreme left and right). As you can see, there are a lot of factors to consider so get everything into place before ordering. I believe that 5mm is accepaible on the OEM wheel/tire combo.

The only thing that concerns me w/ wheel spacers is putting added stress on the studs. IMO I would stay away from spacers, if anything do adapters.

That is the main reason to buy only a quality kit and one that includes replacement wheel studs. ARP does make a set of high strength bolts.
