I took over the administrative and webmaster duties of club-tc.com back in March of 2007. My goal was to improve the site by making it easy for Scion tC enthusiasts to find and share information about their cars. Since then, the community has flourished and the site has become a wealth of information that no tC owner should be without. I am always looking for ways to improve the site and the club member’s experience here.
While I am not a Scion tC owner, I am an automotive enthusiast, meaning that I enjoy anything with an engine and four wheels! I currently have a bunch of cars but my pride and joy is a 1991 Dinan 8 (850i). Powered by a 5.0L twin-turbo V12, this car is an absolute pleasure to drive. I have worked on everything from Nissans to Covettes. At the end of the day, they are all just cars… and I love them!

Grew up in Texas with the street racing crowd in the 80’s. My father was a street rodder in the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s getting the bug from working in his father’s mechanic’s garage. My first car was a 1979 Mercury Capri with a 2.3L 4 banger. Hanging out with my hotrod buddies got the fever burning to go faster. Soon after, a 302 from a ‘78 Ford Granada soon found it’s way between the fenders. I rebuilt that motor later in my living room with what I called a “fisher price” tool set. Just like my Father, family life put a stop on my hotrodding for about 20 years. I was able to build up a 1983 Merc Capri with a 3.8L V-6 but ran out of money and has been sitting for a decade in a barn waiting to be finished.
As the name implies, I am in the US Navy. Did not join till I was 32. Along with 5 years prior experience as a metal smith, working on Naval aircraft has given me a unique perspective and a MIL-Spec accumen. As a Naval Aircrewman, I travel the world alot. Wind back to 2003 to a town not far from Tokyo, Japan. There on a poster in the window of small Toyota Dealership was the slickest Japanese car that I had seen in a long time. My Japanese friend, translating, was confused by the name “Scion” which in her language meant “Descendant”. The salesman further stated that the car was not available yet and would be sold only to US market. It was not till months later in 2004 did I find out what Scion and the tC was all about. Researching every thing I could about this car, 2005 found me being one of the very first in Southern Louisiana to own a tC. I totally love this car and even bought my Son one.
I soon began the foray into forums looking for aftermarket parts and other go-fast goodies. To my dismay, these forums were full of useless rubbish, incorrect information, and trash talking. I soon found myself becoming the resident expert dedicating myself to providing true and relevant information to help out the Scion Community. It is my belief that a forum should be not only informative and garnish new ideas, but be a valuable resource from experienced to novice people.

I was raised with the all-American car attitude. The nothing is better than a big-block V8 attitude. Well, at the age of 22 I had already owned 5 American cars. My last one was a 97 Chevrolet S-10 with the 2.2 and 5-speed. It had no power at all and was constantly breaking down. I got a note from a dealership saying that I was approved for a loan and went up there the next day to see what they had. The guys ran my credit and came back and asked me “what do you think of that black car out there”. I had seen the commercials on tv for Scion but never paid them much attention. I sat in the car and was admiring the interior when the salesman said “take it for a test drive”. As soon as I went down the road and heard the TRD exhaust and felt the power, I was hooked. I rode back with a smile on my face the whole time. I drove the car out of the lot later on that evening.
My original plans were to leave the car stock and trade it off after about a year. But once I did my first mod and was engulfed by the Scion community, my resistance was futile. I have since been indulging myself into the knowledge of the tC. Although I do not know everything about the tC, I can hold my own.
I came across Club-tC one day searching for something. Ever since then I found myself coming back to check out more info. I decided that I would like to support the site and became the only premium member here. Since then my knowledge has grown and based on my posts, JRW and Navy decided to move me up to moderator status during Navy’s absence overseas. I hope that I have helped members in the past and I will continue to do my best as long as I am around.
