    Have a paint/body shop paint it for you and have it clear-coated.

    Another method that might be cheaper, provides more options, and can easily be reversed would be to wrap it. There are several companies in the market that do professional automotive wrap. Done primarily for vehicle advertising, it is quickly becoming a more affordable option to traditional painting.
