c/f vented or non vented c/f hood

    I think it's Navy that has a post on here somewhere about a vent over your headers being better than a vent directly over your intake manifold. Something to do with pulling heat over your engine.

    I think any vent is better than no vent. The heat is escaping easier than with a stock hood that traps the heat. Really you can't go wrong with c/f. It's lighter, and makes your car look 20x better. Hope that helps :-/

    The only issue with a vented hood is that water from rain or heavy dew can get on the header and cause corrosion. If you live in a heavy rain area, you might want to reconsider the vent. This is why some CF hoods have the vent in the back. The vent over the header gives a straight path for the exhaust heat to escape. When it is over the intake, the heat has to travel around the motor and intake to escape. Not necessarily a good thing to force the heat around your induction.
