Yea, so I was looking around on meganracing.com and came across a C-pillar Bar
    Megan Racing
for those of you that don't know it is basically across your rear window, pics in the link. It's not too expensive, but i was wondering if it makes a difference or not, or if the difference is worth 70 bucks.

ya know, while i'm on here, I might as well ask this too.

    Megan Racing

^ that strut bar, is that nice and good on the tc as well? it looks beefy alright, but i'm no car expert and would like clarification on everything before i buy it. and is there any other (better one that is worth the money)? My car is for the streets only, but I always like a nice handling car

I'm not sure that there is any real benefit to having this Megan Bar.

I don't want to drill holes into my covers for it. I'm not going full roll cage so I don't see the point.

I guess if they offered custome covers to fit the bar I'd do it, but not short of that.

    I can't use it anyway:
I have the full air bag setup in the car.

i wish i didn't do it at times cuz of the holes .. should of just bought a GReddy strut bar for the rear struts .. but seeing that i don't wanna more than 2 ppl in my car at a time ( including me ) really works out cuz the bar causes ppl to hit there heads :D ha ha

yea i read that whole airbag thing after i posted it. but if it keeps the back seats from being useable, i can't use it then. oh well. hahaha

I have a question, if i don't want to spend more than 500 bucks on 1 modification, which one would it have to be? like the one that improves handling the most.

    It'd be inbetween:

    Hotchkis Anti-Sway Bars (Front/Rear)

    or

TRD Strut/Shocks (but you really need to get the TRD springs to get the full affect and that'll put you near $600)

like total being 600? if so. that's not too bad. I'm trying to do the most drastic changes first so i can get the most out of them, but i don't want to spend too much money because i still need to save some for gas and insurance

now that i think about it, Jewell rides in the back - so it'll never happen for me!!!

    true...

except whats the fascination with coils over springs? i've ranted about this before - i just dont see the benefit if you arent auto-xing or something where you need to regularly adjust your setup. you can get springs for almost 10x less.

you know im asking out of ignorance - so educate me please!!!

well, i looked around and coil overs seem to cost about 1400 bucks on average. I don't want to spend that much. I don't go autocrossing or race at all, but i just want a car that can out handle a lot of stuff. Or take corners at a nice speed (if i ever need to) So springs might be it, i just dont' know which and what. And um, what about the sway bars and struts? what should i know about those?

well if u read around, a couple people here have had bad experience with megan in that their products are of poor quality. their stuff is cheap (cost wise - springs are like $120? strut bar like $80)

hotchkis make very reliable suspension parts for our car. i dont think they do anything else but suspension stuff. i think that may make a difference - megan does engine, suspension, exhaust, racing seats, spoilers, and brake kits.
and Megan Racing has only been around since 2001. tC's only since 2004. maybe they haven't perfected the products for our car and are trying to keep up with the big names in the parts categories - greddy, injen, aem, eibach, hks... names that have been around for a long time.

i know some people can chime in with the "business" aspect of it. but that's a start.

Hi all, i have a question. Can i get lowering springs for my tC and not change anything else? like getting camber joints or new struts? i'm looking at either TRD springs or Hotchkis ones.
and which oen has the best performance? TRD only lowers it 1.25 inches or so while the hotchkis ones lower the front 1.9 and the back 1.7 (or the other wya around) They cost about the same so i want the ones with the best performance.

And 1 last question, if I were to get the hotchkis (hypothetically) what would i tell the person who is adjusting my camber to set it to? So i won't have to go back a week or 2 later and adjust the camber
