If you are like me with a lowered tC and upgraded rear swaybar, you have been living with clanking noises coming from the rear when traveling slow over bumpy road surfaces. Well, I procrasted no longer and got the fix for it.

The factory endlinks don't do well with aftermarket swaybars. For starters, the mounting bolt is just barely long enough to hold the nut when using the thicker swaybar. Secondly, the ball joints are just not up to the added stress. If you lower your vehicle too much, the OEM units are just too long, restricting travel.

I had purchased the replacement endlinks from Dezod, but the clanking just got worse. This is due to the low quality Heims ends that they used, improper sized bolts, and no spacers. I believe their website states a Version 2 but I already have that sour taste so I decided to build my own. America's oldest Speed Shop, Speedway Motors, has everything to build your own and have the highest quality products. While digging around, I came across another SPOCOM online shop that has the high quality SS Heims ends, proper sized SS bolts, SS nuts, end seals, and the much needed spacers for cheaper than I could do it for myself.

KJB Motorsports had my vote so I took the chance to see how there's stacked up. Well, I can positively state, "Yes, problem solved!". If you are experiencing noise from the rear and your Trunk Monkey is on vacation, then you need to pick yourself up a set of these quality pieces from KJB.

Navylife, I installed an upgraded TRD rear sway bar in my stock suspension and there's no difficulty whatsoever, including sufficient stud length on the link studs. Allow me to suggest that the clanking, and perhaps the diffiiculy in the stud length, was due to the angle of articulation of the balljoint with the setup you have. You may have exceeded the max angle.

I'm certain that the average modder that goes with the lower springs will benefit from your experience and post, however for anyone considering installing a TRD bar on a stock suspension, it'll work fine.

I have the Hotchkis which was the first on the market. There are some differences between it and the TRD. My Hotchkis springs gave a 1.7" drop when they were installed. I now believe that the clanking may, in part, be from the HKS Type RS ver1.0 coilovers that I have installed. They are not a direct fit requiring a spacer on the lower mounting bolts. Either that spacer is positioned incorrectly or it has too much play. I have been too injured since last October to mess with it.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm a disabled 60 year young old fart and have to do what I can when I'm physically up to it. I know the struggle.

I looked at the Hotchkis, but went with the TRD. The picture was prettier. I'd like to do the front too, but supporting the motor and dropping the engine cradle is a bit much for my feeble anatomy.

The crossmember can be lowered without supporting the engine. The upper mounts on the left and right fenders will take the entire weight with no noticeable sag. I wouldn't drive like that, of course!

I used a floor jack with a block of wood to support and control the crossmember. The most difficult part was trying to get a torquewrench up above to the motor mount bolts. I also had the car up on four jack stands, so I had plenty of room to manuever under the car.

Scott, I ran this issue by a friend of mine and he said he can get me Addco end links, how do those stack up in your opinion. I've been having this same problem since we installed my Suspension Techniques Rear Sway Bar and I only hear the clanking noise at low speeds and over bumps.

BTW, KJB Motorsports website is no longer up. If you research them online they have something to do w/ NewTiburon.com.
