Holy guacamole, I am beyond overwhelmed. Just as I get really close to deciding on what lowering springs to get, someone throws a curve ball to confuse me and at this point, I am really ready to call it quits. I haven't the slightest idea about suspension so I need help. For those who don't know me (meaning everyone but Jamie) I drive a 2008 Waveline Pearl tC. It's a manual. Anyway, Toyota is filled with a bunch of idiots that leave the car looking like it's about to go muddin, and that's all fine and dandy for trucks, suvs, etc. Not so much the cutesy, coupe that a tC is. At any rate, maybe it's the OCD in me but I want to lower my car. This wheel gap HAS to go. I was parked next to a white tC on campus today and mine just looked hideous compared to that one. Any way, the issue I have come to discover now is that I don't know what brands are good. I want my car to be low but not slammed. Sadly, I do not have enough money for coilovers so that is kinda out of the question. Ok so I am looking into the Hotchkis TVS kit that Navy has on his tC with the strut and sway bars, Progress springs, Tein H-techs, Tein S-techs, and Eibachs. I'm really leaning toward the S-Techs to be honest. They have the drop I am looking for, however, my friend told me that he had them on his tC and they started to scrape the wheels on his car when he would turn to the left or right thus causing the tires to wear out too quickly and something about the handling sucking. Then someone else told me that the S-Techs are amazing. I heard Eibachs just suck and are way too stiff yet someone else told me that Eibachs are amazing. The Hotchkis don't have a low enough drop because I am greedy. I honestly don't know who to listen to. Egads. I didn't think this was going to be so complicated!!! I know I want to add sway bars and strut bars but I gotta get the coils first. Yikes.

Glad to see you made it back. This is what I would go with http://www.hotchkis.net/scion_tc_stage_1_tvs_system.html. Give you springs and front and rear sways. It may not be the drop you want right now, but it should hold you over till you get the money for the coilovers. I have heard nothing but good stuff about the S-techs. Does your friend have aftermarket wheels? If so, he may not have had the correct offset which would have caused the wheels to rub...

I got overwhelmed with school and being broke again and "being social" so I took a break. And then I got overwhelmed with all the choices. Yikes. I have no idea what is going on with that whole scraping and blah blah blah mess. I'll find out tomorrow when I talk to him again. My friend who has an STI told me that S-Techs are more for looks versus H-techs are more for performance. I was really looking into that package actually. It's $450 at Hotchkis Tuning 05+ Scion TC TVS Kit [HOT-80425-1] - $450.00 : CustomizeMyScion.com, The one stop shop for your scion needs! ... I just want a bigger drop though. Ugh.

It is not that bad for a drop kit. The springs did not settle or sag on me. Would be trick with a GFX kit.

I'm honestly leaning toward the Tein S-Techs and then getting the Hotchkis Sway Bar set. I just want a bigger drop and the cost is going to be just about the same.

As long as you know that if you go with the S-Tech's, you will need to upgrade your struts too....

Well yeah, it's cos of the more than 2 inch drop. Ugh. I get so close to making a decision then something else I learn steers me away from it.

We talked about this the other day. There are alot of thing involved with setting up your suspension. I know you don't want to hear this, but you can't go straight to the top right off the bat.

Haha I know this. If I was gonna go straight to the top, I'd have coil overs already. I'm definitely researching everything. I wish this was easier!
