Hey guys my name is Jason But yall can call me Skee. I don't currently own a tc but plan on buying a 09-10 TC 5-Speed. I'm really here to do research to know what I'm getting into on mods. I can't have a stock car. It's not in my blood. I currently own a 99 dodge dakota sport which has cold air intake exhaust and lowered 3" all around. But its about time to change it up and go in a new direction. I am deployed in Afghanistan for 11 more months but I will be getting a TC. Any help would be awesome. Much love and see you on the street, in the future of course.

Welcome Skee. I served with a Shipmate that we called Skee. You can call me what the Navy knows me as, just Deel. I am the guy with those 'Don't Mess With Texas' zaps that you see on ISU-90s, connex boxes, and gear. What else is there for a C-130 Loadmaster to do on those long flights into the AO? I am telling my wife right now to be Patriotic and let me finish this post before I go hit the rack. :(

Feel free to poke around here and ask plenty of questions. We will do our best to help you out. Let's start with a few questions to get the ball rolling. Answering these will help us to zero down on what you need.

    * What reasons draws you towards purchasing the tC?
    * Are you looking for a used one to fix up?
    * Are you in the market for a new vehicle? The 2011 tC is a Gen2 different model.
    * What are your short and long term goals with the car?
    * What are you expecting out of the tC?

Stay sharp and give the Taliban a good ole Texas size kick in the nards!:ilu: Semper Fudge "Always Packing"

Hey guys, I have decided to send you a couple of tC's to sooth your Scion hunger. These will be, of course, ready for your AOR. Up-armored with Kevlar composite shell, bullet proof composite windows, wider track, and airless silica/urethane/Kevlar tires will keep you guys safe. AWD drive and a slightly higher ride height with airbags to raise further for obstacle clearance will assure freedom of travel in the most challenging terrain. Not to leave your right foot w/o it's need for speed, the motor will be making over 1,000 WHP with a computer controlled, multi-stage electric S/C and air/liquid freon intercooler powered by an electric swing compressor. For more kicks, a Water/Methanol injection system will provide full Military Power for as long as you need it. For those mad sprints across the open flatlands, a propane injected after-jet exhaust turbine can be brought online to provide 1,000lbs of Thrust.

Not to be outdone at a slug fest with those Tali-wackers, your Mil-Spec tC comes equip with more armament than any 007 car could ever hope for. The roof is altered so as to fold open Kevlar/Titanium composite panels for a 360 degree gunners nest from the rear-center Gunner's seat. No weak sauce 7.62mm here. No Sir. We have outfitted your trigger happy Soldier with twin .50 cals for that mow them down feel. What's more, there is a Hero cam between the muzzles to capture the gore fest. This is automatically uploaded, via a highspeed datalink, to a YouTube account. This account has every Taliban, Insurgent, and Al Qaeda operative's cell phone/PC subscribed so that they don't miss out on all of the fun; "Hey look! There's Akbar." "Ya, you mean there WAS Akbar!". But wait, there's more. The Driver gets quad .50's mounted one on each front fender and two on the hood. Not to be left out, the Combat Electronics Officer in the passenger seat gets a BAR on a swivel mount thru the front windscreen to join the fray. What's more, the CEO can also paint a target to range in the rear hatch mounted mortars with smart projectiles.

OK, so what color do want? Don't worry about concealment. The paint is adaptive. With the flip of a switch, surface mount piezeo transducers alter the frequency of an active matrix causing a phase shift. The net affect will be a flat black for Night Ops or a flat sand for FOB and Mountain Patrols.

Well, until we get the fine details sorted out, just ask one of those embedded journalist to take a picture of a tC and enlarge it up to poster size. You can then attach it to the side of your Humvee. The psychological warfare will keep those Tali-wackers at bay. :)

Well, if he is one of those Liberal types, you can mount his sissy arse on the front to be a hood ornament. Better yet, put him on a long pole that juts out about 20ft in front of your vehicle. He can then take pictures with his telephoto lens of any obstacles or IEDs in the road. All you have to do is stop the vehicle once you see his arse cheeks pucker up. For extra kicks, you can put a t-shirt on him that says, "Western Countries Are Cool", "Lady Gaga For Afghanistan President" or "Taliban Turd Knocker". When you get back to home plate, you can switch his shirt to say, "I am a Liberal Foreign Journalist and I think Americans Suck". That should give you a few good laughs at the end of a long patrol.

As a side to this project, gather up all of the journalists' cameras in you AOR. Just tell them that you are confiscating them for security reasons. Then re-issue those knuckleheads those cheap throw-away funsaver cameras that you get at the tourist locations. Let them wire that to API!

You know I think I remember reading about this in our OIs, and it would explain those T-shirts we got issued upon our arrival. And it just so happens that our MRAPs already have poles mounted on the front of them! It all makes perfect sense now! We should have put all of this together at the start. Come here journalists, we have alot of work to catch up on. Dang slackers. hmmm... we might need more journalists.:inv:

I hear that Rolling Stones magazine has a number of ace-hole reporters that they can send to you stat. You could paint white centerline makers and mount a flashing strobe on the end of that pole. Now, take the t-shirt, turn it inside out and mount the far end of the pole. Paint on it the following: 'Predator Drone Landing Strip'. That should scare the holy shiite out of them.:ilu:

Another option would be to affix the pole onto the front of a civilian truck or van. At the far end of the pole attach a basket or crate that has openings on the sides so as to see what it contains. Dump a bunch of old junky cell-phones on there. Take the t-shirt, as before, but instead put the following: 'Free for the taking. Untraceable cell-phones with free international calling for no charge. Act now and get half off a Shawarma meal (camel sized) at the Kafta Hut'. When the Tali-wackers and those al Cicadas come out of the holes, making a mad dash for the free goodies like the opening minute of a Macy's sale......well.... you know what to do. Tell them I said hello.

Sorry to note get back to ya sooner as I was traveling for about a week.

I got the 14 MP Panasonic Lumix. Really happy with it. The picture quality is quite amazing. It's definitely an improvement over my old one (which decided to go for a swim while we where training down in Florida lol :shrk:) @Sk33 I'm at BAF most of the time. I'm pretty much getting the tour de Afghanistan this deployment lol. If my memory is correct I think we went to KAF 3 times so far.

Perfect! You two guys need to meet up and start Afghanistan's first Scion club. I bet if you talk with your PAO, you might even get a tC or 2 shipped over there to assist getting things started. Just sell the idea as an opportunity to give Afghan teenagers and young adults something cool to do besides what they are doing now. Once you start making gearheads out of them, it will spread like wildfire. It would give them pride of ownership. What else can this group call their own; a soccer ball? If you have this group caring for their cars, they will more likely be inclined to stop IEDs in the roads around their hood.

It would be alot more beneficial to send a 1,000 Scions over there to seed such an effort, instead of, the billions of USD flowing that way. In all seriousness, I think this would work in areas with large populations of teens and young adults with decent paved roads. Shoot, they might just employ themselves with the Country improving roads so that their rides can roll smooth. Another benefit would be the MWR aspect of it for ya'll. It would give you a chance to feel a little bit like you are home. Just a quick thought.
