well i just bought h-techs and supposidly they are supposed to cooperate with stock shocks and struts a hell of a lot better than s-techs, and the only modification to the OEM suspension is to cut .6" off the bump stop. other wise you should be fine, i cant wait to put mine on, mine came in yesterday, but eventually im going to buy the trd shocks and struts just for insurance, but it is not mandatory right away. for example i have a buddy with 18x8" wheels with s-techs on stock struts and shocks and hes doin fine, he has had it on for almost a year and a half

You don't need new shocks if you go with the h-techs. I have them on my car and i have 18s and i didn't need to do anything, but take off the old springs and put the new ones on. The ride is just like it was before you're just a bit lower and the gap looks way better!

What are the tire specs/ brand/ model that you buddy is running on? Any rubbing, excessive road noise, poor wet traction, rough ride, etc?
