gettin new rims/tires

anyone notice how crappy the stock tires are? i accidentally spin out in the rain all the time and once even completly spun out(lost control) while not even going fast..

anyways, i am planning to get new tires and rims. im plannin to get 18s with wider wheels(preferrably by trd). trd sparks only have 18 x 7.5... and i wanted to get something a bit wider. and tires. ive never bought tires and before i do, i just want some suggestions for good gripping tires/brands. costs would help too.. cant to anything too expensive.. basicaly im tryin to keep tires/rims under $1500

kuhmo all the way

I had Kuhmos on my Acura Cl-S and I was not impressed at all. I thought they wore really fast, and dident grip all that well. I just got some 18x7.5 motegi dp6 in hyper black and I love them. I got nitto 555 tires and I am also not all that impressed for the money. But deff better then the Kuhmos.
