hi, my name's shody. i just purchased a 2005 Scion tC this past Thursday and i absolutely love the car. i just left the Del Sol scene due to problems with the last transaction. love the car - the drivers aren't so nice/honest. the tc isn't as small as the del sol, but it's good enough. i've been searching for a car for the last five months and i was stuck between the Scion tC and the Acura RSX. tC won.
the car is tinted, but i'm not sure if they're legally tinted. i'm in NY and don't know the percentages the tints are allowed. the car has some factory mods to it and the only thing i don't like that is stock is the headunit (anyone selling one that has aux or iPod capability?)

here's some pictures of her, i didn't take an interior one because it looks the same as all the others. it's not an auto.

Welcome Aboard. You made the correct decision with the tC. It has been an awesome car and just a pleasure to drive for 99.9999% of us. There is that .0001% that are kicking themselves for not going with the stick.:p

BTW...Any tC radio will fit in any year model w/o the need for any kits or harness adaptors. That should be the same for all the Scions.

The factory radios had a connector that plugged in the back to provide an 1/8" mini plug input. I believe that this was available only with the upgraded radio. The base radio still has the connector in the back for an input.

i am so confused... i just got my new headunit for the aux option and i have no idea where the aux goes.. i'm searching everywhere for an answer.. is it a special plug??
there's five places for something. there's four white outlets on the left and i'm guessing that's for the main controls of the radio... then there's another outlet on the far right.. it looks like the outlet for the actual radio plug (it looks like the same on my sony hu)

    help!

...well i just found an ebay link that claims the aux is in the armrest... so that means there's a special cable... right? :(

TRDsparks.com sells the IPOD cable that goes between the IPOD and the in-car connector.
iPod Interface Cable at Sparks Toyota-Scion, Myrtle Beach, SC

Do not see the in-car harness as an accessory. Installed at the port of from the factory since it is standard now. It states that only the premium radio option (6 disc) had IPOD ability. To be honest, I don't remember if the standard 2005 radio had the capability.

The Base units from 2005~2007 do not have IPOD controllability. For that you would need to get an adaptor from Crutchfield. Looks like TRDSparks.com was a bit cheaper on the price.

lol ok thanks... i'm so used to the hondas. i had one for 2yrs and made sure i was familiar with it. my mom was the one with the toyotas, but i'll have this car for 6 years... i'm gonna have to start reading more on it so that you don't have to keep answering my silly questions lol. thanks again though. i appreciate it.

(is it normal for if i'm in 3rd gear hitting 55mph that the car doesn't wanna go in 4th? it'll whine?? (and i'm that late in shifting cause i'm used to the Si of the del sol lol))

edit: i'm looking on trdsparks and crutchfield and i can't seem to find them..

All Your Scion Is Belong To Us

TRDSparks.com does not carry the adaptor. I was only stating that they were cheaper on the connector cable.

Here are several offered by Crutchfield

Find Car Audio/Video Gear that Fits Your Vehicle at Crutchfield!

Do you drive a stick or run a juice box? The 3rd gear in the manual has a very long ratio till 4th gear. It should not be difficult to shift, nor whine. What RPM are you shifting at? If it is an auto juice box then you might want to have that checked out as an automatic tranny should not whine. Is this a used car? The tranny fluid maybe low (both) or non-exsistent (manual).

Give yourself some time, read thru the forums and your manual. You will soon learn all that is Scion.

    ok sounds like a plan.
i drive a stick. and idk the rpm.. i'm just gonna skip fourth when i need to or just stop jetting off the white line, but i'll check those fluids.

Me thinks that there is a market for tranny swaps in the Scions. :)

Note to self...... Pick up eggs and milk from the store.
