Welcome Alison. I too are named Scott. Crazy ain't it? :) So what are your plans for the car since you mentioned that it has not mods yet? Most stuff is shared between all of the first Gen tC's 2005-2010. There are some differences with intakes and engine electrical. Those need to say for 2007-up. Browse around and read the stickies in sections that you are interested in as they contain most of what is discussed.

I have a lot of plans! It's just coming up with the money thats the hard part. Haha. I bought a lip spoiler (wasn't big on the wing spoiler...too popular) and a short chrome antenna yesterday! I'm also looking into putting an exhaust on and an intake. Eventually tint the windows. Strut and/or sway bar(s).

I'm still in the learning process but those are just a few things that I've been wanting to get. It's kind of nice having a car that has NOTHING done to it...it seems like you learn so much more about how everything works and what everything does.

Very true. There is nothing more gratifying than job that you accomplished yourself. Way back when (that last century stuff) folks used to call it "by the sweat of your brow". Sometimes just the shear force of having to learn it yourself can pay great dividends. Many a person started out just tinkering with something only to wind up becoming an expert at it. Never forget that your greatest tool is that of a thirsty mind. A mind that is willing to listen, to soak up knowledge yet can think on it's own. A mind that does not just take what is said for granted unless based in facts.

Yes, that person is you. Be forewarned though, nearly everybody you talk to will come off as the authoritative expert or their buddy is. The Internet is rife with this. These people can be easy to spot. If you don't believe their doctrine of knowledge they will flame and berate you as an "Idiot", "Noob", "Newbie", "Dumbarse", etc. If they can't back it up with facts and relevancy, their words are meaningless. They know that and that is why they will become hostile. Still, their are even others who honestly pass around the wrong information. Their knowledge is second hand, based on old ideas/methods, or are just plain gullible to believe anything they are told.

It looks like you are well on your way to making that tC into what you desire it to be. Before you buy any parts, Research what it is that you wish to do or purchase. It can save you alot of headaches down the road. Can I make a suggestion? Since this is really a one-sided conversation till you post a reply, I am going to assume that you said, "Go ahead". :) Get your windows tinted now. Depending on the film, most window tint shops will tell you to leave your windows rolled up and not touch them for 3, 5, or 7 days. This is to allow for the water solution to dry out and the adhesive of the film to firm up. Summer time is a terrible time to have to keep your windows rolled up. Best to do it while the weather is still cool plus you can enjoy the benefits right off.

Thank you :) I agree. It's always a great feeling to set a goal and be able achieve it on your own. I hope to learn as much as possible about this car...my new love. How to make it better, faster, and still be reliable for as long as possible haha. My goal is to make it stand out from the rest. I want it to be like no other tC, which I think would be fairly easy to do because of the wide variety of things you can get for these cars.

My Dad is actually really good at window tinting. I may just have him do it. He's just a little uneasy about the rear hatch window. But, I didn't know that about the water solution and adhesive. I think 3 days of closed windows I'd be alright, any more than that , I don't think I could do it. Nows a perfect time to get them done then...it seems to rain everyday...Not ideal for having your windows opened haha.

With any tinted windows, DO NOT use any chemicals on the tint, it will discolor and ruin it. Use Stoner Window Cleaner that is made for tinted windows.

Windex has ammonia in it, its not recommended and not safe to use on window tint. On non-tinted windows Windex is perfectly fine.

    Guess what...

Tinted my windows! :) I didn't forget about ya's. Just been real busy. But, they look pretty sweet. Went with 20% all around. Used the 6-inch strips on the rear window...Doesn't look too bad. That was the first time experimenting with that kind of tint. The front windows will need to be re-done eventually...They have "fingers" and hairs stuck in them. The passenger side is tearing at the bottom. But, they were kind of a rushed job. :(
