So me and my boss bought all the piping and a spectre filter...put everything together right bought an adapter for the air flow sensor..after a few days my check engine light came on...so I figured something can loose or air was seeping in....I have unplugged the negative terminal on my battery for as long as 10 hours to let the ecu reset but tests stil say it has incorrect air/flow ratios....anyone have any suggestions....

If the MAF sensor is dirty, damaged or not in the right position, it can throw a CEL. I would also check and make sure everything is making an air tight seal, any air seepage it will also throw a CEL.

I was just wondering what size the piping is? I think it's supposed to be choked down to 2.5 inches at the sensor, but i may be wrong... My buddy's tc has a stright 3" pipe with no neck at the sensor and he has that problem... please let us know when you fix it because i am very curious.

I believe you want 2.50'' in diameter, if I am wrong please correct me.

Yes, you must match the OEM air box housing ID size for air flow to be matched to the grams/sec MAF tables the ECM expects to see. Going 3.0" is definitely going to slow the volume of air that the MAF sees. AEM has a new intake piping that has an electronic adapter that allows it to run 3.00" ID all the 100%. It modifies what the MAF reports to compensate. One trick that you can do with the 3.00" MAF adapter is to lay a fine mesh of metal screen (like on a screen door) over the opening of the MAF adapter housing on the air filter side. The wire mesh will slow down the turbulent air and straightening it so that the MAF will read more properly.
