I've owned a tC since February, recently traded up to a 2010 manual tC with a bunch of dealer options included, very happy with my purchase and 100,000 less miles :)

:welcome: to Club-tC and congrats on your upgraded tC. How do you like the 2010 tC verses the other one you had? If you have any pics, please post them up. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask. Best wishes! :)

    its awesome

Well first off my new tC is a 5-speed manual instead of a 4-speed automatic. It has 100,000 less miles and is my first brand new vehicle. I got a heck of a deal on it and broke even with my trade in and cash back. I drove the 2011 and it was not to my liking...they changed it too much and it doesn't loom as good anymore, mainly the rear lights. I got the premium audio and the 18" EMX rims with Pirelli tires. The new Flint mica is a nicer color and i have no scratches :). I can't wait to get the capital to it up the HP with a Turbo and other upgrades.

I don't have any pics up of the old one but i could probably get to it pretty soon.

I have to agree w/ you and say I don't like the 2011 Scion tC's either. Hope you enjoy your tC, and if you need anything let me know. I am also making custom tC dead pedals, see my pics and the thread I posted. If you want one done like mine, let me know.

Welcome. Your 2nd tC I see. I have two and don't think that I could part with either one. With the 2011, I guess I will have to make room for 3. :) Did you trade your old one in? If so, how much did the Dealer give you on the trade? So, did you have any mods on your old tC? I see that you tag line states you need suggestions for 350WHP. That is going to be a turbo kit. Ptuning, Dezod, Turbonetics, and Descendant all have top-notch kits that should be able to get you there. At that power level you cant forget about traction so an LSD, sticky tires, and a Stage 3 clutch are a must.

I did trade the 2006 Auto tC in. I didn't have any mods on it. It had 105,000 miles on it, 20,000 of which were mine in the 7 months I owned it. I got $5500 for it, I owed $8,000. They wanted to give me $5000, but I was cocky and the guy was nice, so he pushed for me. I got $3000 off the car, so I broke even pretty much. Plus the 2011 came out so the last 2010 on the floor had 150 miles from them moving it around. I priced it out with the options and it had already been marked down like $2500 from PurePrice, so I made out. I really like the 18" rims and Pirelli ZR tires and the Carbon Fiber dash kit. I gotta plan my budget with my school loans to spec out how I'm going to upgrade my 2010. I'd like to hold off for a little while since I have a 5yr/125,000 mile warranty I'll void by touching it.

And for sure an LSD. Right now I can easily squeal the tires in 1st and 2nd, and in 3rd if I revv it up before letting the clutch go. I've seen other guys say that 1st and 2nd gears are useless too lol.

Did you pick up a Release Series? Weird that the Dealership had one with the CF interior kit installed on it already. I would have thought your trade-in would have been a bit more. Then again, it looks like you made it up on the backside of the deal. Don't trust car salesmen and lawyers much. Been shafted too many times. I bet they have the same room reservations at the Hell Hilton. :)

Oh, BTW....You will not void your warranty on your car. There is a Federal Law that states the Dealership has to prove that your modification caused the problem. In other words, your new HID lights did not cause your right-rear speaker to go bad or your CAI cause your clutch to start slipping. Also, Scion is a Brand that accepts and encourages self expression through modifications.

Be forewarned though that altering any emissions related part is considered illegal in some States.

1st gear is very short. With no LSD, it is best to launch with some wheel spin but try to avoid sliding through second.

The reasoning is that the car was past 100,000 miles. KBB had it at $6000 for my location. I don't think they noticed but the Moon roof had an air leak, my e-brake didn't work (I didn't check it when i bought the car), the Tire pressure sensors weren't installed from the last owner, it had a few dents and dings, etc...

I didn't get the RS, those are special colors I just got the regular flint mica but it's my favorite color option anyway. I wanted to test my 0-60 times but my clutch is so touchy I either bog it too slow or squeal the tires...gotta practice lol

Good to know about the warranty thing, thats a life saver.

Still, the car served you well. Now you are off on the sojourn of new car ownership. One pitfall is the unrelenting desire to keep it looking new. It consumed me but over time, life in the New Orleans area made this task impossible and I had to settle for keeping the damage to a minimum. You know, the standard fair of door ding the 1st week of ownership, pot holes from hell, pavement cracks a mile wide, foot tall curbs everywhere, hit and run, and the ever so classic attempted auto theft. It almost got to the point where I could not go into stores anymore without going outside every 5-10 minutes to check on my baby.

Well, always leave off on a high note.

    ciao

The LSD won't completely stop that. I changed my diff about 18 months ago. I'm supercharged with an aluminum flywheel and a street clutch. No other drivetrain upgrades. I still chirp from a dead stop on concrete if I'm not paying attention. What the LSD does do in the tC is completely eliminate torque steer. Before I did the install, a hard launch would almost put me in the next lane over. Now, if I want to reduce my tire life a bit, I can do it with just finger pressure on the wheel and keep a straight line.

I'm not saying it's a bad investment. I love not having to argue with the motor for lane choice when I'm feeling froggy. I just wanted you to know that the LSD is a very subtle thing!
