I am considering purchasing some sway bars for my 2006 Scion tC come spring. I have also done some reseach on Hotchkis and TRD and not quite sure which ones to go with. I have read that Hotchkis is a hollow tube where TRD is a solid tube. The installation of the front sway bar will be a good 4-6 hrs and the price of Hotchkis is more than TRD.

Does anyone recommend Hotchkis, TRD or have these installed on their Scion tC? I don't feel going with a hollow tube is going to be as study or rigid as a stiff tube. Any suggestions or helpful advise would be much appreciated.

    Thank You!

Our very own navylife59 is using..... Hey wait, that's me! :)

I am using the Hotchkis setup though I do not have the front swaybar installed. The larger diameter front OEM swaybar on the manual trans tC does an excellent job on the street. Unless you are tracking your car, I doubt that you will find much difference in the swaybars (TRD/Hotchkis). The Hotchkis does come with stiffer mount bushings. Of the TRD, I do not currently have that information.
I like my rear Hotchkis bar. With that one you will find the stock endlinks barely have enough thread on the bolts to fit.

As soon as I put my TRD sway on (stiffest setting possible), I felt a nice big difference in the way I was able to throw my car around. Now-a-days, I have the TRD front strut and springs, along with the previously installed rear sway. The first drive with everything installed felt like a whole different car. Still like woah. But now the car feels like normal. Meaning, it hasn't lost any ride quality.

Not sure if I'm conveying my point properly. It's 3:00 am. TRD is awesome. Good night.

Not yet. Been waiting to do that with my refreshed trans, Fidanza LW flywheel, Spec Stage 3 clutch, and Energy Suspension master kit. Best to do all at once. Probably put in my front HKS Hipermax RS coilovers and the same time.
