From what i understand there is a sensor in each of the stock rims that transmits a signal to the ecu, therefore letting the ecu know if the tire pressure is low, which in return sets off the low tire pressure signal in the cluster, this system has already saved me 4 time, from permanent rubber damage(nails love me i swear) so anyways, if i were to get aftermarket rims and tires, would the system still work? can i swap it onto the new wheels? can any tire shop do it or does toyota have to do it? i dont think i could live without this system!!!!!

yeah.. you'll need to swap the sensors and install them into the new rims.

any tire place should be able to do them.

Basically as i understand all 07 models and up come with tire pressure sensors. all it is is a little sensor on a big metal wire which sits on your rim and knows how many psi are in your tire. you can fit it on to any car and if it goes on just open your glove box and reset it...

    .......

it's a fairly sized black module that sits inside your rim and connected to your valve stem... i'm not sure where you're getting this "big metal wire" stuff from..

    who are you..?

All tC year models come standard with the TPWS. It is a small module that replaces the standard valve stem. Not all rims have teh same internal shape so they are not universal. Each transmitter has a unique code that is registered into the Tire ECM via the Toyota Intelligent Tester. It provides the module temp and pressure data for each wheel.
