I know that a lot of the time the prices for products our due to buying the name of the manufacturer, but i have compared warranties and what they cover and still cannot decide what the major difference is between $150.00 megan springs and $250.00 Tein springs..... any help?

    Effect & other parts

I really want to lower my car about 2'' in the front and rear. I know with some lowering springs you also want to replace the shock absorbers. If you go w/ springs that will work for your stock shock absorbers will it shorten the life of any other parts on your car... including the shock absorbers?

One word, "Quality". Megan Racing products can be hit or miss, inferior at times. It is believe to be Chinese goods. Tein is a well-known, respected Japanese manufacturer. As for the stock struts, yes it will shorten the life of these stock units, but not by much. There are many on the market with varying degrees of lowering that will work with the OEM and cause no degradation. Hotchkis, TRD, and TEIN are the most popular companies. After 6K miles, I put 40K additional miles on my OEM struts before I notice any difference in the ride or handling.
