Stay away from Axis Wheels and anything cheap. Made in Japan will cost you money. Made in China will cost you anguish. Be sure to pick a size that will allow you to run big enough width tire so as to protect the rims from curbs and potholes.

I was going with Auto Art VYC's in gold. 18x8 with +37mm offset
Then I decided to go turbo.

Another nice rim is Tenzo type M in black. I like black and gold on Flint micas.

+37mm offset will rub with a wide tire (right fit). With 18x8 wheel you should be at +42mm offset. Stock 17x7 is +45mm. A 18x8.5" whould be at +40mm offset.

I wan on the phone for like an hour taking measurements and stuff for the company I was getting the rims from. They said the 18x8 with +37mm would fit perfectly. They said to be real careful tho. But ill trust you since you are the all might guru of the tC.

The wheels will fit. Usually it is more of a caliper and hub clearance issue there. Too large of a positive offset on the wheel and you run the risk of the front wheels rubbing on the frame rail in a hard right/left turn. A friend experienced this with a set of Enkei wheels.

The main fitment problem is in the height and width of the tire utilized. If you run a tire that properly fits that rim, it is gonna rub are be darn close. This also depends on your ride height (lowering or weight in the back) and what camber (positive or negative) that you have on the rear tires. For proper sidewall integrity to maintain the tire contact patch on the road, your tire width must be slightly wider than your wheel, however, too much will make your car severly sloppy. On the flip side, running too small a tire width on a rim risks breaking the bead in a hard turn/swerve (not good) and an overly stiff tire. This would, in fact, cause the tire contact patch to lift in the corners (not good).

A benefit of a slightly wider tire is that it will take the curb rub and not your wheels! Unfortunately for me, I and Jotech was given erroneous information by Axis Wheels' website and employees. Their wheels are standard based +35mm offset which puts the wheels too far outward on a 8.5" wide rim. This necessitated shaving the rear fender edges and running a tire width that is one size smaller than I prefer. That means my wheels can easily be damaged by curb rash! If you do experience outside rub on the rear wheels, you can add more negative camber to add clearance. You have to be carfeful there as too much will casue excessive wear on the tires and possible rub in the upper fender well on a hard bounce.
