Autozoe Caliper paint. Works very well and last thru alot of power washing. Prep work is key here.

I used G2 caliper paint. A brish on technique or it can be sprayed on.

It actually came out looking purple the way I wanted it..
It takes about 3-4 hours not including the prep time (2-3 hours)

    Can someone define "prep time"?

Its been about 4 years since I've painted calipers....Take them off, tape up, spray, let dry.

What am I missing that takes up to 4hrs? (drying shouldn't take THAT long; unless you use the whole can on one caliper lol)

I actually sanded mine down to a near smooth finish ( prep time ) I took my time taping off everything that I didn't want painted ( prep time ). Oh yeah that also included taking them completely off the car to get better coverage ( prep time )

If your going to do something I guess there is no use in half a$$ing it...

Not trying to hijack this or anything; but its along the lines of painting calipers..

Has anyone tried painting theirs white? My car is white and I think it would look nice; but wasn't sure about getting brake dust on them too easy and having them look dirty all the time.

    White calipers? Anyone? ??

from my experience...although limited...it shouldn't matter. I would let them completely dry for atleast a full 24 hours. Since the paint is an enamal of sorts the brake dust shouldn't bother it. I use a foaming wheel cleaner and brush once every two weeks to keep mine clean and they still look the same as when i did the work to them nearly a year ago.

red, most common, and looks good on anything (what I used)
Yellow maybe. or maybe not on sizzling crimson.
    black perhaps?

definitely black...I am going to be changing mine to black and try to find a pad that losses little dust....they do make ceramic pads right....that would help with the dust problem...

Mine ended up flaking off. I have touched it up several times but the same keeps happening. Soon to be powder coated! I already did my rotors, but did not like the colors so I will be re doing those.

I have an 08 Waveline Pearl and I wanted to match the color to my paint but I can't find that exact color so I may get yellow. I heard it doesn't particularly matter what kind of paint you use, but just make sure it can tolerate high heat and make sure you have a good clear coat on there.

I think that having a clear coat on there really won't matter to much because then enamel is a high gloss....once it has dried properly it will shine with little effort...

It's not necessarily for the gloss factor, it's more so the paint doesn't chip off.

I have had mine painted for 2 yrs now and I have no chips....I also put two coats on, so that may have something to do with it....

Here is an example of a powder coated rotor. This was done as test. Not liking the shade of blue. The caliper is painted with brush on Dupi-Color paint.

    Front Stoppers - Duplicolor Paint.jpg
Front rotor and caliper was done with Dupli-Color caliper spray on paint. Looks sharp but have not had the chance to try it out yet.
