I decided to head to walmart for some Tea cooler. I was pulling out and by me comes an eclipse GT...i rev... he whips it around and follows me. we get to a light, and when it turns green, we both punch the hell outa it. He pulls away up and over a hill. he turns into a small store parking lot and turns around and leaves, i do the same. Unfortunately i missed the Cop who was waiting for me right over the crest of the hill. as i pulled out of the parking lot i also peeled out... reckless driving right there. I go down the street and stop the cop pull a u-turn and starts to follow me. i drive slowly while he follows close behind. He pulls me over. i am 17 and it was 1 in the morning. I was out past curfew, street racing, speeding, and pulled a reckless driving. He comes up asked what i was doing... i lied. I gave him my license and registration and he went back to his car. I was so scared, first time being pulled over. I knew i was screwed. He comes back about a minute later and says "Your a lucky man, i have to report to another call, don't do it again."... I went to church the next morning for i knew Jesus was looking out for me.

I've been pulled over ~24-25 times (no joke). I've only recieved 3 tickets. All speeding. Last time I got pulled over, which was just a couple weeks ago, was for suspision of drunk driving and speeding. I told the cop that I've never drank alcohol in my entire life (truth). He gave me a sobriety test anyway, which I obviously passed. I told him I was trying to reach my cellphone which is why I was swearving (lie). My addresses on my registartion, licence, and insurance were all different. He came back and told me that he was letting me off with a lot of warnings. I could have been out ~$1000.

Actually a phunny story. That is something you would have not expected. Maybe it can get on that show 'World's Most Funniest Text Messages'.

Drinkie and Drivie is just plain stupid and illegal for good reason.:cop: Kudos to you punk2m1d for being a sober driver. Someday you might partake of the spirits so keep the truths to heart. "Now you know, and knowing is half the battle Timmy. GI JOE!!!!"

Yes, kudos. I endorse this safe practice as well.

I like to hear that. I am 33 and have never had so much as even a drink in my entire life.

Man, Props on that. My dad is hugely anti-alchol and so naturally I started drinking at around 16. I got lucky though, Im not hooked I just like a few when im hanging out with friends. O man my buddy has a man cave garage in jacksonville, fl that he keeps stocked with beer and its great for working on the cars or in his case a bike. It was one of those once in a lifetime situation where about 5 of us just brought our tools to his house and his huge garage he got the beer and we all just BSed around all night and would get a little bit of work done, then the next day go out and test it out. :usfl:

Good times for sure. Being in Jaks, it wouldn't be a Navy Chief would it? Chiefs are famous for their well stocked Goat Lockers and Garage Bars.:banana_piano:

You should drink for the the flavor, not the fun of it. That's where people get in trouble. Some drink to kill the pain. That is uber bad as it leads to far worse things like killing themselves or others. I say instead of drinking to kill the pain, go out and run 10 miles. By the time you make it back, you will be so weary that you won't even remember what it was that got you in a bad spot. :)

LOL, yeah he actually was, im not sure if he made it to chief but he did some sort of electrical work. All I know is now he works for the local power company finding old lines and boxes. But yes, the taste is good, plus the cold sensation is nice when you have been under a car/bike for a few hours.

I have to hand to you guys, you're all pretty lucky. I rarely get pulled over, but when I have been pulled over I usually get out of the trouble I got myself into. Plus it helps having a clean licence, no outstanding warrants, arrests, fines..etc. I will admit I got super lucky last year on the highway racing a 240SX, we were both doing 100mph +. The 240SX picked up a cop somewhere nearby, I continued to push the throttle since I had passed him and hit 120mph, low and behold my dectector went off as well, a Cobra at that time. I hit the brakes and slowed down, but couldn't see where the cop was hiding. To my amazement, he was over the crest of the hill and sitting waiting for us. He clocked me doing 90+, and asked me why I was going so fast. I as well gave a white lie and said I was seeing what my car could do. He replied back, I know your racing that blue 240sx, let me see your licence, registration, insurance. After he came back from his squad car, he said to me, your lucky and I know who you are. Before I change my mind, get outta here and slow it the hell down. The cop was a sheriff and a sergant I knew from working at a former employer. That night I coulda had my car impounded, socked w/ multiple fines and a revoked/suspended licence. Talk about wiping huge amounts of sweat off your brow.

Not too long after that, I upgraded the Cobra radar to an Escort Passport 8500. Gave the Cobra to my g/f to use in her o5 Tiburon GT. The Escort hasn't let me down yet and has saved my arse I don't know how many times. Best radar detector on the market now IMO.

I gave up the false sense of security that I have with a detector. Now I just use my calibrated eyeballs to do the detecting. I seem to be able to see a cop way before they see me. It is like a 6th sense or just experience. Works great but sometimes I space out and forget to turn it on.:banghead:

Very true. The only streets I have truly raced on are empty though I will gas it up to the speed limit every now and then. Racing with other traffic is just simply not safe. When I was much younger, I played stupid.

Street racing is only as safe as you make it. I have done it many times, when the traffic is congested I tend not to engage in it. I am not one to back down from a challenge, but when I know for a fact that I am going to get smoked by a vehicle that is way outta league, I leave them alone. Don't care to set myself up for humiliation.

I have a similar story like that too, except mine dealt more with illegal objects/substances in my car.

I engage in street races when I feel that the other driver knows his limits. If I feel that he doesn't then I will back down. Not because I want to be ***** but because he becomes a far more dangerous force than he knows.

I think we should not encourage street racing but if you are going to do it should make sure you don't run it on stock tires and suspension thats just asking for trouble and if you ask anybody that races that the first thing you do
