Raceland Coilovers

    Raceland Full Coilover Kit for Scion tC 2005 - 2009

    a guy that i talked to recommended these to me

    he has a tC and is said to have run almost every kit available on his car.

    Ive only heard good things about them, and theyre only $240.

    and another question? if i go with a coil kit will i need anything else or can i just have the kit installed and be good to go?

    Personally, I wouldn't waste the money on a Coil-Over. I have talked with many people about them and the ride quality is not all that its cracked up to be. Plus if you want a bouncy ride, that's what your going to get. Other sets you have adjust every coil over from stiff to soft as well as the ride height. If its not set properly, your car isn't going to handle as you'd like. You'd be better off with a good after-market strut like: KYB, Tokico, TRD, Bilstein. Coilovers are more designed for auto-cross, ralley and road-course racing, not for a daily driver application. Do strut bars front and rear, lowering springs and a good after market strut and you'll be all set. When you lower the ride height, you'll probably need to buy a camber kit as well.

    well i guess the coilovers will be waiting or a while.
    my girlfriend rear ended me today so im getting on the wide body kit.

    i need to replace my rear bumper, drivers quarter all the way to my door, and hatch.

    illpost pics later. i cried when i looked at it. so sad :(

    thanks. i kinda went away from thew idea of a wide body kit for a while but since this happened im thinking why not? i gotta repace all that stuff anyway.

    im looking at the AIT K1 body kit.

    I've seen the AIT Bodykit online and on a few Scion tC's, those look amazing IMO. I woulda done a bodykit on my tC, but NY road are horrible and so is the winter weather, so instead I went with the RS1 lip. Saving up money for the RS1 side skirts and rear lip as well.

    yeah if this wouldnt have happened i was planning on the 5axis lip kit.

    the roads here in wisconsin are horrible too but ill take the chance.

    and i dont drive it in the winter so thats a plus

    yeah pass on the racelands cheap coilovers arent gonna last and welds look weak on them coilovers dont run btw 800 and up for no reason :2:

    thats what i thought at first... wheni saw the price i was like wow. really?
    but this dude i talked to said theyre good. but if you all think theyre too cheap and bad i wont get em. thats why i put this up here.

    so megan racing eh?
    ive heard good and bad things about them too. because they started as an ebay brand right?

    for Megan Racing, I don't know how they started. The bad hype is reviews by actually product owners. there are some that swear by their axle-backs, but all of the rest of their gear is cheap Chinese made junk. Looks good till it is put to use. I am not saying that Raceland stuff is totally crap. I am sure that you might find a few decent items from them but I would not hold my breathe as to quality.

    I asked some other people about Megan and where they came from, and I was told they started out on Ebay. How true this is, IDK.

    ive also heard throught he grape vine that megan started as a ebay company and pretty much all there stuff is junk. my opion though

    as for those raceland coilovers over on scionlife there is about a 400 pg thread all about them and everyone there says they love them as long as you dont plan on auto crossing but there really nice for daily driving as there firm and not boucy and can be dropped very low

    Raceland may have a great ride and I can't confirm that, but I do know from past experience and riding in other vehicles w/ a coil-over suspension, they ride like crap and very bouncy. I still say get a good drop spring, strut, rear sway bar, camber kit and an alignment and your good to go. I would also consider getting the Ingalls 4-way rear strut brace that goes down inside the hatch. I have heard nothing but good reviews on that.

    that makes no sense on why they would be bouncy unless something wasnt done properly. coilovers are ment for racing therefore they are supposed to be very tight and very stiff. come from my integra i ran skunk2 coils on it and they were so ridiclously hard it would hurt sometimes to drive it long distance

    so im not sure if the cars you rode in wernt properly adjusted or were cheap coils

    I'll ask my friend who had the coil overs on his ride and find out what brand he used that rode bouncy.
