Skunk 2 springs

first of all i'd like to say hello. i just bought my 06 tC in flint mica & joined the site yesterday. i chose the 06 b/c i got a good price, great mileage (18,500), an extended warranty, and its a manual. great little car for the money... i just have to take it easy with the modding for now. don't want to make that extended warranty expire early.

i've been looking through the site for about 6 months though... getting a feel of whats been working for people with certain parts and i noticed i havent seen a thread on the skunk2 springs. any particular reason no ones using them? i personally would choose the eibach sportline if i can get a good deal, but the skunk2 springs don't look like a bad choice either...

I personally love Eibach Pro's, I used a lot of Eibach products on my Scooby back in the day, before I had my tC.

But the consesus here, and on other Scion tC forums has been with the Hotchkis combo.

TRD Sparks sells you: Front and Rear Sway Bar, Rear Camber Links, and Lowering springs for 579 bucks.

Quality product, and an awesome bundle, bang for the buck package.

i did glance at that combo, but i was looking for something with a little more of a drop. i will take a 2nd look though...

If you're going to drop even further you will need to get the rear camber links, and possibly the front too, depending on how aggressive your drop will be.

yeah i know about the camber past a 2" drop. not a problem.

since it looks like no one has experience with the skunk2 springs i'll be the 1st to test them out

i will definately post results. ive heard that on civics/integras with these springs, the ride is supposedly bouncy and harsh. but... i'll be the judge of that

all i need is to wait about a month b/c i have a 30 day "no pay" warranty (just in case i find something wrong with the car), and i'd like to do the install when it gets a little warmer out.

yep i got a set of hotchkis springs and im waiting for it to get warmer too (and money for shocks!)

what shocks/struts are you looking to get?

i'll probably ride out the stock ones till they blow... then there's no excuse for an aftermarket set

probably trd. all the big brands (koni, tokico) are priced about the same or more (for once trd isnt ridiculously overpriced). plus i dont need anything too aggressive since i dont auto-x or anything like that - and the drop isn't quite 2 inches with hotchkis springs. i got about 40K on my stock shocks so i'll just do it all at once. and i'd like to have something trd on my car

I'm just going coil overs.

The spring rates are just too soft for me.

I need at least 300 F and 500 R.

Anything else, and it aint worth it.
