first post...spring is coming and it's time to spend a little $.

When it comes to ride, I'd like to soften up a little and not sacrifice performance. I've seen threads that say their lowered ride rides softer than before. Can this be true?

So I suggest you rate your springs. If you've lowered your tC, tell us the following.
    ~What springs and drop

~What change to the ride did you experience on a +5/-5 scale:
    +5= your grandaddy's chrysler
    -5= riding mower

for example, if you read this thread:

    http://www.club-tc.com/forums/suspension-brakes/3730-how-bads-ride.html

    this dude's rank might be

    Tein H-tech 1.5"
    +3

    cheers! :D

Higher rate springs will never give your a softer ride as a whole. Progressive rate springs can provide a stock ride quality, maybe even better, but once you compress the spring to the higher rate section, it will definately go harsher. BTW. Not all spring kits on the tC offer a symetric drop.

    Hotckis TVS Stage I
    copied from Hotchkis
    Front 1.7" (43mm) Drop 175 lbs/in (Stock 150 lbs/in)
    Rear 1.97" (50mm) Drop 285 lb/in (245 lbs/in)
The rides is a little firmer than stock and retains excellent ride quality.
Best when combined with our sway bars.

From stock, the ride quality is firmer but not harsh. Vey responsive. -1 from stock.

    thanks for the informative response.

Why is this guy experiencing a softer ride?

Did you go with the recommended sway bars when you lowered?
