VSII hood & viniati spoiler

    I'm about to buy the seibon carbon fiber hood and the viniati spoiler. I know I can paint the spoiler no problem, what I'm concerned about is I want to paint my hood the color of my car (black sand pearl). Now I heard if you paint the carbon fiber you need to have some UV coating so it doesn't warp/fade?

    Basically, the vsii hood is the only one I want and I refuse to have it not match my car, helpp!

    You can paint wet CF hoods with no problem. The UV coating is for the clear coat coating on these parts as it tends to yellow from sun exposure. Your paint would resolve this problem. Most high-end finishes include some sort of UV protectant to slow down the oxidation process.

    whats wet whats dry? and if i have someone who knows what hes doing, he'll more than likely clear coat it right? is it stupid that i want it painted? i just think it makes the car look all beaner-ish haha.

    Here is a good explanation.
    Carbon Fiber 101

    Dry Carbon is what you see on exotics and true race cars. It is also easier to patch up as there is no fiberglass skeleton to worry about.

    You bet. Good luck finding anything online that is dry process. For this, you would have to go to a specialized shop.

    i got a question navy, i ordered my spoiler and its on its way. now i have a friend that paints cars, spoilers, whatever, but he said if i get him the paint, hell only charge me 40 to paint the spoiler. now, i called the dealership and they didnt know what i was talking about. where can i get the paint? how much paint do i order?? what about clearcoat? please help, its driving me f-in crazy.
