I want some thing that has best of both worlds. Since i'm a daily driver and what not. Any suggestion will help =) Btw, Boston has accumulated lots of pot holes =( So i would like a to add that as a factor =(

Hotchkis springs have been a great of springs for me. The ride is not too bad, the drop too low, and they improved handling immensely. Eibach springs are another good brand.

My recommendations for Springs and Struts:

    Struts: TRD, Tokico, KYB, Koni
Springs: TRD, Eibach, Tein, Hotchkis, H&R, Progress

I would look at each manufacturer of the lowering springs so you know approx how low the drop will be.
After having your tC lowered, make sure you get an alignment and pending on how low you do decide to go, you may also need a camber kit.

I was thinking Trds reds. They seem like a perfect fit for the driving condition in Boston Aka potholes.

Does lowering cause any excess wear on the half shafts?

To the best of my knowledge, no. Wheel hop and wheel spin can do damage to the half shafts.

alright awesome cause I had a monte carlo that had the sleeves on the half shafts tear cause of the excessive angle from lowering the car

I haven't read or come across anyone online w/ a Scion tC that's lowered that has endured any issues w/ their half shafts.
